Every ring you need to maintain your filter. I would replace rings every year but every two or three is probably fine.

3 years on pump now knnew it is going to need these o-rings
got them early going to need at some point

Wrong size apparently
Obviously 6" isn't big enough for my pump. The seal slides down the B type filter easily. Doesn't sit in the rim at all. I measured the mouth opening and it's 6 7/8". So now you know....
