**Q: What kind of quality control do you perform?  My pan had rust on it when it arrived. I know how to address rust on cast iron, but expected more.**

We suggest you before you use wash it in warm water and dry thoroughly.Then covering the inside of the cookware with a little vegetable oil, and then heat it on a low flame for a few minutes. Wipe off excess oil with a cloth.This process will improve cooking performance.

You can’t beat the price for this Dutch oven. I love using it to bake sourdough loaves. It’s a little on the rougher side in terms of smoothness but I simply scrubbed with one of the chain mail and it smoothed it out a little. It is super sturdy. I do recommend seasoning it though. Perfect size.
