The Aerospeed fans work perfectly and are very quiet (practically silent). I tried a more powerful fan, the Ventamatic 20 in. High-Velocity Floor Fan. Even at it slowest speed you could hear it upstairs in the family room. And at it's highest speed, it was as though you were on a runway with a jet taking off. I AM NOT OVERSTATING THE NOISE LEVEL OF THAT FAN. Fortunately, it died one month after the warranty expired and I was able to replace it with the Aerospeed Fan. The Fans-Dehumidifier combo keeps our basement perfectly dry... no unpleasant basement smell. Review: Don't even think about it - Only 2 of 3 speeds worked, sounds like a jet, day two began a whining noise in the blades-meet-motor area, which cannot be opened by the user. I sent it back for a refund. If there wias a zero star, Id give it that. Replaced it with a black Lasko 2017 12" floor fan which is fantastic. The new fan that I got was worse. There were already tears in the blades.
