Purchased another Lutron motion activated switch that I had problems with. When I contacted their help line (which was excellent by the way) they suggested this model for our purposes, which is to turn on the light in an area where the switch is well into the room. This switch was easy to install and now works well for us on the out-of-box settings, but has the ability to adjust them if wanted. It turns the light on as soon as we near the doorway, and 5 minutes after we leave it slowly dims the light before turning it off. (Yes, I timed it from a spot where it wouldn't see me.) The only issue we had was the LED tubes we already had installed in the fixture weren't dimmable, and they just repeatedly cycled on and off. Once I put in dimmable tubes the switch worked flawlessly. Based upon the performance of the switch, and more importantly on the quality of the help I received, we'll definitely being looking for Lutron products in the future.

Although the instruction said MS-OPS2 is a single hole motion sensor switch, I successfully used two MS-OPS2HW switches to control a stair light in a 3 WAY lighting circuit. I removed the original 3-Way switches, and connect the MS-OPS2 switches with the following manner: Black to Black of 14/3 cable as constant power, White to white as neutral, Black to Red of 14/3 cable as switched power to lights. It works perfect for my stair well lights as well as hallway lights. This involves a little bit of conversion on the wiring, but it should be easy for electricians or experienced handymen. Before buy this model, I also checked Lutron's MS-OPS5M, but its manual said that only 1 switch can be used in a 3 Way switching circuit. I don't like that, so I designed my own circuit to have two single pole sensor switchesand works fine.

Despite the warnings from AI Chat about this type of motion sensor light switch, it works well in keeping the light on while someone is showering behind a shower curtain. However, it does occasionally turn off when someone is sitting on the toilet, which can be inconvenient. I wish there was an option to adjust the motion-sensing range. We've installed the switch on the bathroom wall, where it's in the line of sight from outside the bathroom door. As a result, it gets triggered when someone walks by the door. To prevent this, I've had to place a piece of paper tape over a part of the sensor window to block its view of the door and avoid unwanted activations.
