Small but high quality rake; best for jobs where a wide rake cannot reach
This Emsco rake was purchased to help me spread mulch in my flower beds. I needed something smaller in width yet durable to do this task and this rake was just the thing. Although it has a shorter handle than a full sized rake, it is still very effective in spreading mulch and its thick durable plastic head is more than up for the job. The head is attached to a wood handle via a thick metal staple which has thus far proven durable. I would say this rake would be great for mulch spreading, reaching under shrubs or in areas with not a lot of room to maneuver a full sized rake. Also, if you are looking for a rake for a kid, this will be a good choice because it is kid sized and they would really be able to help out because this is a real lawn tool and not just some flimsy toy. Good luck.

Best small mulch rake for women gardeners
I am an avid gardener of flower gardens and use mulch to hold moisture in the soil and to prevent weeds. Years ago I had the perfect lightweight plastic rake with a wooden handle that was perfect for spreading mulch. I'm 5'4" and finally found this perfect small mulch rake like the one I had years ago. It does not gouge down into the dirt and fits very low under the flowering bushes. It leaves no visible rake lines due to its lightweight. The wooden handle is perfect for my height. I highly recommend this perfect little mulch rake for women.

Toy cleanup rake
Quality sturdy smaller rake. I bought it to safely rake my carpet when it's covered in little toys. I prefer to gather all the parts and pieces of the toy set into a pile near my plastic storage tub for a quick and easy cleanup. Works great!

Description is GREEN but it's really red
It's a red rake. It does the job, and it's a quality rake for a kid. But in the description it says it's green, but in the photo and in the box it's red.

Inexpensive, not cheap - get kids into gardening early!
I bought this because it was the cheapest rake on Amazon, because I couldn’t find my rake and really needed one. I figured it would show up eventually (it did) so I didn’t really want to spend a lot; although this is advertised as a kid’s rake, I’m short (5’4”) and I have used a kid’s shovel quite effectively for digging up the roots of weeds in my lawn (it’s bigger than a spade so I get the whole root system with one shove into the ground, but it’s narrower than most shovels so I don’t get a bunch of lawn with the weed and I don’t have to bend over or kneel to use a spade). So I figured the shorter handle length wouldn’t be a problem with this rake. Well, I might like it if the handle was another 3 inches or so, but I manage to make it work, and I don’t have a lot of *excess* handle to deal with like I do with a regular rake. I’m developing a collection of petite-sized garden tools. The span is not terribly wide, about like a regular shrubbery rake, so it took a little longer to get everything up, but not much, and the teeth are good at grabbing things, even grass cuttings (which is what I needed it for — after a Washington winter, the first lawn trimming must be done with a weed whacker because it grows so tall in all that rain, you can’t get a lawnmower into the thicket, so you have to gather the clippings by hand instead of catching them in a bag). It is held to the pole with staples, not a set screw, but I’ve had set screws slip on a rake head before, and these staples do a fine job holding it in place. I figure if they wear out I can just put a wood screw through it. If the plastic head breaks — it shouldn’t if I don’t let it get sun-weathered and treat it decently, it’s pretty sturdy plastic — I can always buy another rake head and set it on the pole. Plus, now that I found my full-size rake, I’m all ready to have a niece or nephew help out in the garden (I really do need to get a full-sized shovel, though, at least for turning the compost pile).

Make pet chores easier with this long handled rack.
We like this rake for pet chores. The long handle is great for us adult. They last about a year.

I thought this was a kids rake simila to True Temper's.
I gave it to Goodwill. It is too small. I believe that anyone or company that is selling rakes should publish the dimension of the rake. True Temper's is a wonderful rake for collecting acorns and small particles because the space between the tines is less than most broom rakes, it's light weight and the width is substantial. The only drawback for an adult such as I, is the handle is shorter than most adult rakes. No problem, I always have a supply of handles from steel tine rakes that always fall apart. Or I might splurge and purchase a longer handle.

Cute rack - but I HATE RED! Wish there was an option to select the color.
