The Merck Veterinary Manual

Bought this for a good friend leaving for vet school, we both looked through it and it has literally every bit of information you could think of. Because of that, it's not crazy in-depth, but more of a quick info book for students. But it does have info on toxicology, pharmacology, pocket pets, a section for chickens, diseases, viruses, parasites and so much more. Will definitely be getting one for myself.

Has lots of information, few photos, but Thin pages and small print.

This is a reference manual for vetinarians. If you don't have a good grasp of medical knowledge, then get a medical dictionary ready. Also, the print is very small so you may need a magnifying glass.

I purchased this guide for my daughter who is in college to be a veterinarian and I wanted to share with you a couple things about it. I chose this guide after doing a lot of research in hope's of giving my daughter something she would find useful. I actually consulted with one if her friends who is on the same path about 2 years ahead of her. That girl told me that she thought it was an excellent choice because she "Often sees Drs. Carrying them." So I was pretty confident that I had chosen well. Last week I was in my daughters apartment and asked her if she had had a chance to look through it. This is what she said ..."You know how you asked me if the house was on fire and I could only grab one thing what would it be?...I would totally grab this!!" (This being the guide.) That was about the highest form of validation I could imagine from a 20yo!!

Bought this for study prior to getting animals for our homestead... its full if information. My only complaint is the paper of the pages are so thin... it is definantly a refrence library book... not to ne taken into the feilds

Wonderful book filled with a massive amount of information. Even though I understand the need for the pages to be thin to fit so much information, it's bit frustrating have to use so much care to not tear them. In the next edition I hope they choose to make the book wider and thinner so it can be more portable and generally more appealing.

It’s really very useful, especially for people that have to study for exams like I am. I’m not sure this would be of much use for a practitioner, it’s not very detailed because it covers so many contents. But would definitely recommend for someone who is still in college, just got out of college or is validating their diploma and have a lot of time to study.

Its great for studying. But the only fault is about its thin pages and small letters.
