I bought this to use my new Mac Studio "headless" with remote screen sharing. This is a silly way to use a computer like that, but worked great for a week or two while I was migrating over from the MacBook Pro that I was replacing. This HDMI dongle exposes pretty much *ALL* the resolution possibilities, which was actually pretty amusing. The ultimate in "Multi-sync" (virtual) monitor capabilities! Great prices, does what it says. Now I just need to find a place to store this until the next time I need to use it without it getting lost and disappearing to the same place that socks vanish to from the clothes drying. It's pretty small, but effective.

These work great for my uses. I admin 12+ machines I need to be able to log into remotely. Without these attached, I just got a blackscreen. WITH these attached, it thinks theres an actual monitor attached and am able to remote in just fine, do what I need to do then disconnect. Not sure how long they will last, but I've had at least 6 of these deployed for the last few months without issue. Huzzah for things that just 'work'!

See photo - the device is plugged into my RTX 3090 and it does give me a dummy display in Windows 10, but the display's max resolution is only HD - not UHD like advertised. Buyer beware.

So these plugs are great and work flawlessly with Nvidia GPU's but if you run into the issue where your only resolution is 640x480, just google 'Custom Resolution Utility'. With manufacturers working to decline mining on consumer gpu's, this is one of the issues. I have verified these to run at 4k natively on Nvidia GPU. I have verified these to run at 4K with Custom Resolution Utility on AMD GPU

This actually resolved a remote resolution issue I had on a headless machine and using any desk. Plugged this in, and problem solved.

Got these because when connection to headless mac mini and mac book pro I am now able to view on my host mac m1 mini I now have full screen and not partial screen. I am disappointed in that what I received was not what was pictured. These do not have the blue led light on the end. They work otherwise. Would buy next time from a different vendor.

Just what I needed to add to a couple of PCs I needed to remotely log into that didn't have monitors attached. These mimic a HD display so you can adjust the resolution. Does the job beautifully.

this has no light and also no 4K support.
