Best gap tool ever
Best spark gap tool ive ever used. The notch works very well to expand the gap. And the measurements are dead-on accurate, I verified it with a caliper. And the cherry on top, its USA made. 10/10

Exactly what i wanted for my expensive Iridum plugs
I bought this for one reason only, to open up the gap on my pricey Iridium plugs without damaging the electrode. I don't use any 'spark plug tool's' measuring device, i have an honest to goodness high quality feeler gauge tool for that. The metal looks like a zinc alloy to me. The (2) circles reviewers mention are indeed there, I assume it's from a casting or molding process. Mine aren't recessed. There is a small amount of 'flash' around them i could stone flat if did not have the ability to convert millimeters to inches. The Inch surface side is fine, but *I didn't measure it* because 'feeler gauge' . It really gives you a lot of mechanical advantage to open the gap and clears the electrode easily (FWIW, my stock plugs were at .031"). And the fact that it is a) around four inches long and b) has a bright orange handle means I won't have to c) buy five of the coin style I will misplace because I will actually find it easily in my toolbox the next time I need it. This is the one you want, friends.

It gaps spark plugs, exactly what it's supposed to do.
This is one of those tools that you probably won't use terribly often (unless you're a professional) but it's worth the admittedly small asking price. It's simple but functional. One side is inscribed in inches and the other side in millimeters. It's easy to open plugs with the squared off opening in at the end of the tool and then to check against the gauge along the edge. If you open your plugs too far it's definitely harder to close them but it's ridiculously easy to open and check them with this tool. I can't say that I've calibrated it's accuracy or anything but it's good enough to get all your plugs consistent. The handle is hard plastic and is comfortable enough and no rough edges. The gauge is a nice cast piece and mine did not have any imperfections that would affect it's usage. I'm glad I spent six bucks on it.

Very Easy & Effective To Use
This is a simple tool for checking/changing spark plug gaps. The ramp-style gauge works well, and the negative electrode spreader fixture at the end of the tool fitted my iridium plugs easily and reliably. I bought two of these and am looking forward to using them in the future.

Better than my other gapers.
I have a few other spark plug gapers, but I keep going back to this one. The adjuster built into the end makes it easy to adjust the gap, and sliding it along the indicator makes it easy to make sure it’s the correct gap size. Not a bad price either. Works great and a great value for the cost.

Different from what's pictured, but does the job.
First of all, a lot of the other reviews on here mention the fact they're buying an A&E Hand Tool product and receiving a cheap tool made by Lang. I did a quick Google search and found that A&E Hand Tools owns Lang; while the title is a tad misleading, you're still buying a tool that's made in the USA and under the A&E Hand Tool family. Personally, I've never heard of A&E outside of the TV channel, so I don't have any preconceived notion or opinion on them or their products. Secondly, this item looks as it does in the picture except for one detail; there is no pocket clip. Everything looks exactly the same except for that. While others mention that it has a cheap chrome finish on it I'd like to know how you determined that the one in the picture does not have the same finish. Finally, I bought this mainly to use with my gas operated lawn equipment for swapping out spark plugs and what not. I'm not a mechanic and won't be relying on this tool for my livelihood. Looks a lot easier to use than the traditional spark plug gap biscuit or feeler gauges. I was just looking for something straight forward and simple and this seems to fit the bill.

Great alternative to the ring style gapping tool. This allows you to start at a lower point, getting in to the gap without changing it, then work your way up to your desired number.
