Dodge does have 'dimples' in the bumper to install their front bracket, but the factory one is horrible cheap plastic and the idea of drilling holes into the front of the car was not something I wanted to do. I still had to drill a couple of small holes in the bottom of the bumper but the rubber inserts were a tight fit (be sure to use the right size drill bit - it is CRITICAL.) I was able to use one of the existing bumper screws and provided bracket to mount the back half of the plate holder. I would recommend sealing the rubber inserts with epoxy if possible to ensure they won't work their way out. The whole operation took less than 15 minutes, including jacking up the front, locating the best mounting point (I opted for dead center), drilling the two holes I need to, then assembly. Quick. Easy. Legal. And looks like it part of the car. If you buy one, STAY AWAY FROM HIDETHEPLATE.com. **Q: will this work on the 2014 mazda 3?** A: Robert, you will need about 7.5in of flat surface (or at least room) to mount the bracket. This is about the height of the license plate is the area where it will fold down and back to. The hole spacing is probably less, so as long as you have some overhang room in the back, I suppose that you could go with less. The bracket will protrude out about 1.5in so the plate can fold up. The 7.5in area should be parallel to the ground so when your license plate is in the upright position, it is perpendicular to the ground and parallel to the front of your car. Mine sloped slightly, so the net impact was that my plate slopes slightly back to the car. It works out okay since my front grill also is sloped and it parallels that. I took a quick look at some Mazda 3 pictures on the web and it looks like there are a couple areas where this might work. You just need to identify a sufficient mounting surface. The hardware that came with the kit was excellent, and I had mine installed in about 10 minutes. I did not want to mount the front license plate in the stock area because it looks horrendous and I did not want to drive without one because where I live it is illegal. The show and go license plate holder seems to be well made and gets the job done. It took me about 30 minutes to install. Even when the tag is up it does not look to bad at all. One minor complaint is that you can see a little bit of the metal bracket sticking out while the tag is folded down. But that is partly because of limitations of mounting due to the frame construction of the vehicle.
