Thanks for the question. 5 or 6 years old is a great age to start and a fun way to improve balance and coordination for children. Also, it's a good idea to have your kids using protective gear (helmet, wrist/elbow/knee guards) if they ever have a tumble. Have fun! Kindest Regards, Barbara Skitch Skateboards Customer Awesomeness **Q: Does this skateboard turn well** A: Yes! Thanks for the question. This skateboard is designed to turn as smooth as butter. Good carving is all about the bushings and the trucks and these are not only the best bushings you can get, but the trucks are also designed to recreate that classic surf ride-feel, and can be adjusted perfectly to your flexibility preference and body size with the skate tool provided. Have a blast! Kindest Regards, Barbara Skitch Skateboards Customer Awesomeness **Q: How can i get the most out of these abec-11 bearings?** A: Good question! Firstly, there is actually no such thing as ABEC-11. The maximum bearing precision quality available is ABEC-9, so be careful when you see lookalike boards claiming to have ABEC-11. Our bearings are top quality chrome steel ABEC-9 so that you can have the best skateboard experience. You'll be able to tell the difference when you flick the wheel right out of the box and on your first rides. You can also adjust to safer speeds for beginners with the skate tool and speed caps provided. If you keep your bearings out of the rain/dirt/sand and apply bearing oil when needed, your board will last you a long time. Have fun out there! Kindest Regards, Barbara Skitch Skateboards Customer Awesomeness **Q: My 14 yr never skated before wants one is this a good choice** A: My granddaughter wanted a skateboard for a bday gift. She lives in SoCal, & getting a skateboard is a rite of passage❗️She was 10 , & a very petite. We went to skateboard shops, & the boards were to big for her. If you’re 14 yr old is tall & mature looking I would say this board may not be good for him/her. If a novice skateboarder, I would recommend this first skateboard though. It’s stylish also. Hope this helps❗️ ## Frequently Bought Together - SKITCH Skateboards for Kids, Teens and Adults | Premium Skateboard Gift Set for Beginners and Pros Complete with Mini Cruiser Board + Skateboard Backpack + Video Course + Speed Control + Skate Tool - SKITCH Skateboard Protective Safety Gear Set for Kids and Teens | Premium Lycra Sport Knee Pads + Elbow Pads + Wrist Guards + Carry Bag | Scooter Roller Skate Inline Skating Rollerblading - SKITCH Skateboard Helmet for Kids and Teens with Premium Grade Memory Foam Padding | Triple Certified Adjustable Protective Sport Head Gear for Scooter Roller Skate Inline Skating and Rollerblading --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.id/products/32340588-22-starter-series](https://www.desertcart.id/products/32340588-22-starter-series) --- *Product available on Desertcart Indonesia* *Store origin: ID* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
