For Xfinity system, you need Visonc MCT-320 sensors. **Q: How close does it need to be to the magnet to register as closed?** A: Usually with a 1/2 inch or so... **Q: Can you demand to know the "Installer Code" from your alarm company? This sensors cannot be added to your system without it** A: Ran into the same problem, but if you haven't tried, the manufacturer default for installer code 6321, if you are using the 4 digit, input type. Or you can try the last four digits of your account number from the support company. My bet is on the first one. Good luck with your problem. **Q: How do you pair it with the DSC panel?** A: I have a DSC 1832 and enrolled this to replace a failed wireless sensor, at the keypad (which is either a PK5501 or RFK5501). You'll need to have the wireless sensor in your hand and look at the number after the "S:" (it will probably have numbers and asterisks in it). With that in hand, here's what I did to replace the old / failed sensor. Press *8 on keyboard, followed by your programmers code (default is 5555), It will ask for a Section and show "---", type 804. It will ask for for section with two dashes "--", then type the zone number of the failed sensor. It will display the ESN of there old failed number, just type exactly what you see after "S:" on the label (including asterisks), then hit pound "#" until you are out of programming mode. Worked for me.
