Pro12 with WiFi 12.2" 2-in-1 Touchscreen Tablet PC Featuring Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) Operating System, Black

I had looked at this unit for months but did not try it due to it being RCA. I have a Samsung 10 inch and an Acer 10 inch but wanted a larger screen for the old eyes. I was very surprised with this unit. I have not used it long but it seems to be very quick, smooth and nice to use. The screen, when attached to the keyboard does not go back as far as most but is adequate. (It tips a tad past 90 degrees). The unit allows you to format your SD card to be used as internal memory which is a real plus. All in all I am fairly well impressed for a critical, picky old guy that has tried several other tablets, 2 in 1, and convertibles. I wanted android and this is the only lower priced 12 inch I could find. Tried windows and chrome units but they just were not android. Edit: After using the unit awhile I am still impressed and like the unit, however after adding a few apps etc. when the unit boots up it takes almost five minutes. I do not know if there is a problem or if it is just under powered.

The tablet I purchased before the Pro 12, a Simbans Tango Tab 10 inch tablet, is very cheaply built and I believe will probably fall apart at any time (and I am very careful with all of the things that I buy, and especially computers).I have found the Pro 12 tablet to be a much better, if not a little costlier, tablet, and it is a much better tablet, a Pro 12 (made by RCA) with WiFi and a 12.2 inch touchscreen, which don't have any problems with it, and has a full-width keyboard (my fingers are way too big for the smaller keyboard) that is much easier for me to type on it. It also has, in my opinion, a much better attachment for the keyboard to the tablet, a magnetic one, which is much more secure as well as flexible than my Simbans Tango Tab 10 inch tablet (of which I have already within 2 days broke one of two tabs holding the tablet to the keyboard since it is so cheaply made). Thanks for reading my review of this product, and I would highly recommend purchasing a Pro 12 Android tablet instead of this tablet as it is made much more secure and solid than the Tango Tab 10 inch tablet, and has a bigger and better screen to it. You can find the Pro 12 on Amazon.com and selling for about $181.99 but the extra costs are well-worth it for a much better tablet.

The Pro12 is a great size for dim eyes along with the extra weight making it more comberson to handle but it is worth it for me. I use the Spectrum TV app and the picture sometimes freezes while the audio continiues which is corrected by switching to another channel and back again. I returned it for an exchange and the new one was the same. I am well satisfied with the Pro12 inspite of the negatives.

Was a little hesitant to buy this because of the price and some of the reviews. However, it worked fine out of the box and does everything I need it to do. Note that with the low cost comes lower performance and a screen that doesn't produce equivalent deep blacks that you find on higher end Samsung and Apple tablets. However, with that said, it works great. No connectivity issues. I actually like that it has more border around the screen than higher end Samsung and Apple devices because it is nice to actually be able to rest your thumbs on something while reading without inadvertently touching the screen. I bought this primarily for reading magazines and comics...if you are thinking about getting it for that purpose then I highly recommend it.

I decided to wait before I give this review. Now it's been over a year and I still use it I got it because I wanted something to view my sheet music on. Now I use it for writing papers, reading books, and occasional web browsing. It is easy to use. It takes a long time to charge, but I've experienced the battery lasting as long as 24 hours with 12 hours of active use. It has a proprietary charger, but also uses a micro usb charger. On board storage is adequate for my purposes, but you can always add a memory card. It has a usb port which works beautifully. I can't say enough good things about this tablet. My only complaint, is that browsing the internet too long can cause Chrome to stop responding for a few seconds. The bright side is when you get the option to wait or end the program, you can pick wait and it will work immediately. In summary, I'm glad I made this purchase and I hope to continue using this tablet which I treat like a mini laptop now.

What's right? I'm having trouble figuring that out. I love the quick disconnect for the keyboard. I think that was brilliant. I like the display and touch-screen, they seem to work well. I liked the price, and that's what got me into this in the first place. That's about it for likes. Beyond that, the RCA Pro-12 is one of the worst POS I ever bought my way into. To be honest, it's very hard to tell whether the problems I'm having are hardware or software in origin, but let's just say they don't work well together. For example, the system is constantly crashing when in use. It's not a proper crash, mind you, like you might get with Windows. Rather, the tablet goes into restart all on its own and unpredictably. If you've just spent an hour working on a novel as I have, anything that wasn't saved prior to restart is lost forever. Pretty disconserting, but it gets worse. When you reinitialize the tablet, the App you were using prior to the crash may, or may not, have completely disappeared from your tablet. How does that happen? Of course I worry that any data I've produced with that App might also disappear. That hasn't happened yet, but I don't intend to find out if it will. I went through the endless "Apps Starting" loop many times, although, for some unknown reason, that problem seems to have disappeared, but there are many other aggravating problems to take its place. The tablet is very slow to respond to any interrupt which can also be aggravating. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse and sometimes I find that what's appearing on the screen is so far behind my fingers that I get to thinking it's locked up, so I start again, only to have the tablet start filling in the blanks. Unfortunately I've just found this product to be so aggravating that I can't find a use for it. If anyone out there can suggest some useful purpose, please let me know, ...and try to be nice.

It is now Aug 2019, the Android OS is several generations old, but I am still giving this a 5 stars. I am mainly using this device for reading sheet music. There are newer/better/faster/cheaper tablets for watching movies / playing games/ reading / other apps. See attached pic I took with the pro12 and actual 8.5x11 paper side by side. The best tablet for displaying sheet music, IMO, is the 12.9" ipad. Perfect for those musicians who are not afraid of spending $1k and have it knocked over from a stand during a gig. For me, I love my pro12. I am seriously considering getting another for spare, just in case they don't make tablets like these anymore.

I use an Android tablet with Mobile Sheets Pro software to display music usually in portrait mode as I am performing. I was looking for a 13.3" tablet at first, but it seems the only ones available in that size are fairly old technology (Android 4.0) and with limited memory and close to the $500US price point. I was very pleased to see that the 12.2" size doesn't make my eyes struggle. Also this is the first tablet I have had with a detachable keyboard and it works very well. Much more convenient to use than the typical virtual keyboard. If the physical keyboard is disconnected a virtual one appears when needed. It appears there is good support for this product and it is identified by other computers as CT9223W97 and if you need support you can Google it as CT9223W97 or Pro12 and current relevant topics show up in the search. This became necessary because mine arrived with the identity of an engineer in it (on a new computer?) and I needed to learn how to do a reset to factory condition. Once I reset it, it is MINE and does everything I need it to do. Pretty darn good for an under-$200 machine, I would say!
