Indispensable and utterly brilliant
OWC is a trusted brand from which I have purchased several products over many, many years, from drive bays to laptop docks. None of them failed so far, and this TB hub should hopefully follow suit. Plug and play on my M1 Mac Studio, connected to 2 ancient (but still perfectly working) Apple Cinema displays with a DVI to TB adapter as well as an existing Anker USB-C hub which used to sit on the same TB port this hub has now taken on the Mac. It all worked immediately, no glitches, no overheating components, no fuzzy displays, no intermittent Ethernet. Unit feels sturdy and comes with a rather substantial PSU, but given its small size, it requires careful positioning to avoid connected cables from tugging at it. Comes with a short (about 30cm) TB4 cable, which is ideal to locate this hub not far from the Mac. Utterly recommended to anyone who, like me, has a lot gear to connect, and even the 6 ports on a Mac Studio arenโt enough when extra displays are required and cannot be daisy-chained through other devices. Would give it 10 stars if I could, absolute life saver and frankly great value for money. Picked this one over the latest version because had better reviews and I donโt need TB5 speeds.

Itโs Tiny!
I was shocked with how small this is, but good things, small packages etc. The power supply is bigger. However it is solid and worked straight out of the box. Talking of the power supply it is excellent, with detachable IEC cable so I can run it from my Furman power conditioner. One thing to note is that the supplied software drivers no longer work with the Apple SuperDrive mainly due to Apple. When I queried this the support were quick, clear and helpful. All in all highly recommended.

Does exactly what itโs designed to do ๐
A Very well made quality product. Works well. Excellent power supply which works on UK voltage no problem. Of note that my power supply came with a USA plug which I had to cut off and rewire with a UK plug, but the power supply is clearly labeled to confirm it is compatible with UK voltage. The transfer speed of data through this hub feels very very fast, I have not measured it precisely but in use it gives the impression itโs delivering its rated specification.

Good product, does what itโs supposed to
Easy to set up, compact, very useful. Where else can you get 4 extra Thunderbolt ports? No discernable speed reduction in Thunderbolt 3 data transfers compared to direct connection with Mac. One niggle: socket for cable to computer seems a bit loose, cable has come out a few times on its own. Iโve always had great results from OWC though so monitoring, and if dodgy unit that needs to be returned, Iโll def replace with the same thing. UPDATE: the cable keeps ON falling out of the front slot, causing my disks to disconnected without first ejecting. Iโm requesting a replacement.

Works perfect. Quite heavy but not an issue.

Fair product for the price.
I have two of these, all I wanted was an extra few TB ports for my Macstudio and the USB A port was a bonus. Does it do what I want? Yes mostly, the disc write speed is slower than when I connect a TB enclosure directly to the Mac which confuses me a bit, but there we go. I have USB C or TB monitors connected and one of my TB enclosures (connected in a RAID 0 with another that is connected to the Mac), the drop in speed isn't really a problem because I use the RAID for editing from and BMD 4000 plus read is more than fine and the intention for that is really to give me a 4tb drive without paying the mad Apple price. As others mentioned the connections can sometimes be a bit easy to dislodge but I happen to have little USB 4 adaptors that I use and for some reason, they don't become dislodged, go figure. I am lucky that I had some but I think it would be a pain to have an extra cost, though if you don't wiggle the thing too much you are likely fine anyway. I am more than happy with them, sure you can spend a little more and get even more connections, but like anything, get what you need. I have one connected to the other so I know have 5 extra TB ports for whatever use, plus two USB A 3s and if I am using a different machine I can pick one up and take it with me. for the price I was more than happy, just sort out the fit OWC and you would have a super product and not just a pretty good one.

Extends Thunderbolt port connectivity of my 2017 iMac
Great little hub supplied with huge power adaptor, never mentioned in press release articles, although all similarly priced rival products tend to do gloss over this when promoting their products? On the plus side the hub offers sufficient connectivity to extend the ports on my 2017 iMac which only has 2 Thunderbolt ports, I gain 3 using this hub allowing me to keep a couple of T7 SSDs USB-C and 5TB LaCie SDD USB-A drives connected for my photo editing and time machine backups. Installation was simple although placing it out of sight would make my workspace look more organised. Delighted with this purchase
