can you run a rod through that center hole to use 2 of these together?

I would probably use and all thread rod from the hardware store would nuts and washers. I don’t remember what size hole it is. Maybe a 1/2” or 5/8” I’m not sure. You can put a nut with a washer on each side so you can tighten one with the other. So you would have a nut and washer one the two outsides and two nuts and washers on the inside, then tighten.

is there any chance i could move a 700# gun safe with a pair of these ? I need to move it across carpet and onto a hard floor.

I think so, depends on how thick the carpet is, will not have any problem with the weight. I moved a 2000 lb. piece of equipment, was great on concrete but sunk into asphalt.

Do these move 360 degree?

These aren't all that position-able. But I tend to just use a plywood spacer on top and give them a wack on the nose to turn them in desired direction. Just be careful and anticipate. (also sweep the path thoroughly, smooth is key)
