Buckle in, buckle down!
I’m a long time fan of Ms Foss, and I’m always surprised by her books. Why? Because I’m in awe of the different worlds she creates. This one is borderline the darkest for me, Happily Ever series is still the darkest for me, but Ms Foss and Ms Thorn immerse you into this world perfectly. They build this world of suffering into something you want to experience, almost but not quite. It’s not an “Insta love” story, they build the relationship between the characters. A world where an Angel’s wings turn black when a crime is committed...I’m intrigued and ready to play. It did take me a little bit longer to get completely drawn in, but boy what a ride when I was fully there. If you’re experiencing the same, give it a little bit longer, it’s totally worth continuing! And I’m so glad they’re continuing the series.

Lacks description but decent plot
It was hard to truly know what was happening within the setting of the story. I felt either the authors edited out a lot of exposition or they didn’t write enough to begin with and that had me re reading passages to understand what was going on. The characters were one noted and you get a little back story but not enough for me to fall in love with them.

I liked this book. Raven was born with black wings which just marked her as bad. She’s sent to a different prison when she turns 18 where she meets Sorin and Zian. The guys protect her, improve her fighting and realizes that their mates. After so long they start to question what’s really going on and they get partial answers and have to wait or figure out the rest. I can’t wait to read Novak’s story.

I'm all about this series!
I'll admit, at first I was hesitant about this series, I wasn't sure how well it would all click together being based off the same place & timeline, with different storylines and authors. But I have been throughly proven wrong, and I couldn't be happier about it! Even though each book is based off different characters falling in love and trying to survive the Paranormal Prison insanity, it comes together so perfectly. I loved everything about this book, the sexy badass guys who don't care to get their hands bloody, but actually thrive off of it. The small female Nior who looks so innocent and small, but is more than willing to take on anyone who dares to come after her or her mates. The sexiness this book has is off the charts EXPLOSIVE! It's deliciously gory and nail biting, edge of your seat suspenseful and mysterious, so much so that you spend majority of the book trying to figure out what's really going on and even better, what's coming next. Both of these authors are new to me and I look forward to checking out all of their passed releases and future releases!

Wow
We get to meet Raven and her mates when they get sent to Noir Reformatory. There are plots of what exactly is going on that you will need to continue reading to find out. This book has suspense love and action.

Need more!
Nightmare Penitentiary is hardcore crazy. I can’t wait to find out wtf is going on there cause #whatthef#%€! I love how the stories flow together and give us tiny glimpses of the others 🥰 The Noir and Nora are compelling and I’m excited to see a further glimpse into those particular stories and how they all tie in! I need more info and all the answers!

This was a great read, I loved the way Raven developed through the book. She took what she wanted in the end and got strong enough to be taken seriously. Looking forward to the next one.

This was such a great read! Loved the story line and how it crossed with the previous book. I can't wait to finish this series and get into the rest of the paranormal prison books!

Good and evil, black and white.... disobedience, free will, choice and the futility of impossible decisions. Living under brutal conditions with a blade at your throat makes it impossible to walk the path of innocence for long. Raven's whole life had been a battle to survive and then she is moved to a violence child death trap and meets fallen angels willing to help her survive the hourly survival tests and regular cullings of the prison population. It all seems futile, but their survival instincts are strong and keep them fighting to survive another day.

I enjoyed the storyline in this book particularly as it is very different to usual angel themed books. It is written in a way that shows you a story of a girl who doesn't know much about the "angel world" but has the strength and determination to do anything to survive and I think this is very relatable to anyone in life. This is a good book that I recommend and if you haven't started any of the other books in the paranormal prison series, I suggest you do because they are honestly fantastic!
