**Q: Can the plastic sides be removed and feeder used as a platform feeder with roof?**
A: Yes.  The screws connecting the roof to the body can be removed easily, then slide the windows out.  Reattach the roof and you're done.  Our experience has been to use it as is since most of our birds sit on the side of our tray feeder anyway.

**Q: The description shows this bird feeder is made from cedar ~ it looks like pine.  Could this have been made using a different wood?**
A: UNFORTUNATELY, OUR WEATHER HERE IS TOO BAD FOR ME TO CHECK CLOSELY. I HAVE HAD MINE FOR OVER A YEAR AND AM VERY PLEASED. THE WOOD SEEMS TO HANDLE THE ELEMENTS WELL SO MY GUESS WOULD BE CEDAR. IT ALSO HAS A SCREEN WHERE THE SEEDS SPILLS OUT FOR THE BIRDS THAT KEEPS THE WATER FROM LAYING. MY OLD FEEDER MADE OF PINE WOULD HAVE TO SCRAPED TO CLEAN ROTTING SEED. HOPE THIS HELPS. THANK YOU

A: Its not made to be hung, but if you mount some brackets to the top eves I think it would work....

**Q: "perforated screen bottom removes for cleaning"  If mounted on a post is this still true?**
A: Yes it is. Post mounting requires an adapter screwed to the outside bottom.
