What is the maximum distance between the 2 rulers?

I don't have mine here but I'd estimate 2 to 2-1/2". It really doesn't matter since you can walk the parallel ruler across the chart to a compass rose or wherever. Check the Power Squadron video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKSBYfscA80.

Great size, and quality. Has both metric and imperial measurements, which I deem essential.

Not the same as they used to be

Previous versions of this W&P divider had more heft and felt better in hand because it had smooth curves. This edition has more hard angles and just doesn’t feel as comfortable. Although it’s all metal still, the top design feels cheaper in hand. I’ll keep this as a backup, but am going to look for an older used one instead.
