Best Midrange allrounder under 20k
I have been using this as my primary device for almost a month now. I bought it with exchange on prime day sale at 12k. I must say for the price which is now increased by Xiaomi to 17999 for 6/128 variant still provides best value for your money with few software bugs here and there. But most part it works like a charm. 1. Beautiful Display - Amoled is Amoled, it's best in this segment, brighter, sharp, fluid with higher refresh rate. But I noticed sometimes the display flicker on low brightness, this makes me worry about the longevity and life of the display. Compared to IPS, amoled display has less life span and if Xiaomi has provided amoled with higher refresh rate at this price makes me doubtful. But no complaints about the display performance. I definitely enjoy watching videos. 2. Speaker - Dual stereo speakers are sufficiently loud and has balance sound not 50/50 but you won't feel the difference until you intentionally try to find. Ringtones are also loud unlike some older Xiaomi phones which had good speakers but ringtones were low. 3. Battery - This phone definitely lasts for long time. Even with heavy use it lasts for 1 full day with approx 9-10 hours of sot. I play games BGMI 1 hour min, lots of calls 1.5 hours min, videos on YouTube and other apps min 1 hour and other social media and messaging apps. Incase of light use it can last you 1.5 days max with 7-8 hours sot. P.s. I use my phone on 60 hrtz and Always on display. Charging spead could have been better as compared to other 30 watts charger from relme oppo OnePlus this is slow in charging speed. Takes more than 1.5 hours from 0-100. Camera - I haven't used camera extensively, so can't comment on the performance. But it looks good till now. Build and design - definitely a personal choice but I loved it. Looks and feels premium, with good asthetics and ergonomics. Doesn't feel heavy but yes it's big like all other phones. My son dropped it couple of times but that's why I always put cover on and the phone is safe intact. MIUI - it's good with feature packed customisation options. Make sure you turn of all recommendation for pre-installed apps from Xiaomi and do not sign in to MIUI account. You won't get any ads for sure. I love MIUI for its looks and the features it offers. I use Android icon pack to make it look more clean and seamless. Calls and network - calls are loud and clear with earpiece and speaker both. WhatsApp calls on speaker has some problem, other person can not here your voice properly if you keep on speaker. It seems a software bug as it only happens on WhatsApp. Data and WiFi speeds are excellent it supports 4g+ so carrier aggregation is supported. Miscellaneous - No major heating issues, while playing BGMI for longer periods it feels warm and temperature reaches around 39° I feel it's normal. Maybe on 120 hrtz it might get more. I used it on higher refresh rate but definitely the experience is not smoothest and I realised better to use on 60hrtz for smooth performance and better battery life. Will update in future if the experience changes.

Excellent phone with a few caveats here and there.
Since my OnePlus 7 conked off out of nowhere one fine day, I was forced to scout for a new phone on a very short term basis. Because of this, I had to move from a phone in the budget premium segment to a higher trim phone within the midrange segment. I will be writing this review from this perspective. I have been using this phone as my main device since the 4th of July, and I've written this review after using this phone for a little under two weeks. One of the biggest things that got my eye was the beautiful Samsung AMOLED display. It is on par with, if not better than my older OnePlus 7. The blacks are beautiful and I could tell that MI did not skimp out on this segment. However, I do feel that their touch sensor could use some improvement, as I find myself mistouching a lot of buttons on it. Also, the screen tends to have a significant flashing problem, especially during the night. While I don't think this is a very frequent issue, do keep this in mind when making a purchase. Another great thing about the screen is the refresh rate. While 120 Hz does make a noticeable difference to the speed at which images and frames move, over time it didn't feel too prominent. Also, most websites do not have the silky smooth scrolling, thus, making it feel a bit alienating. That being said, the refresh rate is very noticeable for sure. The build quality of the phone is quite good for the price. While the phone does have a plastic back, it doesn't feel cheap and feels quite sturdy in the hand. The aluminum sides give it a very premium look, even when coupled with the glass back. That being said, having seen the durability tests on youtube, which seemed to highlight that the phone has a lot of vulnerabilities in the build sturdiness. So I'd recommend treating this phone and putting a case on it if using it. The software experience is not too bad. I love the amount of customisation MIUI offers, from the huge selection of user made themes available, to the smaller quality of life changes from the ability to hide the notch to the ability to go as far as changing the phones font. However I did notice that the phone forces apps to go an dark mode when dark mode is turned on, which causes some images appear incorrectly on the apps. Also, there are times when the screen goes completely unresponsive, and forcing a shutdown is the only way to get the phone back to normal. Other than this, the software is good. A major plus is the fact that the phone comes with Android 11 out of the box, and the phone doesn't have any heating issues. The only time I noticed heating issues is when the phone was running a video call in windowed mode. Since this puts the phone under a considerable amount of load, I would give it a pass. Another thing I would like to bring to light is the fact that flashing an custom ROM will take a few days, as MI seems to have a weird approval system. A major positive about the phone is the camera. The camera works wonderfully, whether the app being used is the stock camera or GCam. When compared to GCam, the stock camera seems to churn out more brighter images. However, I think that GCam churns out more "accurate" images. There is an beautification effect on selfies which is not very noticeable on the stock camera app, but when compared to images taken through GCam, which are a lot more accurate, it becomes very obvious. To sum up the camera performance however, it is excellent and extremely reliable. Definitely worth going for if you want to take great high quality pictures. The Wide Angle camera could use some improvement, but the Macro and the main 64 MP shooter are absolutely wonderful. I cannot comment on the battery life yet as I haven't used my phone for a full day outside yet. But from what I can tell the battery has given me 8 hours SOT on light usage when going from 30-100, which is impressive. The battery doesn't discharge fast as well. However, it is to be noted that I mostly use my phone on the 60 Hz setting, so my results can vary greatly from the others. The phone charges fast enough, but since I rarely charge my phone to a full battery, preferring to do it in small spurts instead, I cannot say much about the charging speed other than saying that it charges fast. One positive change that Xiaomi seemed to have implemented in the current set of phones is the fact that there are no ads inbuilt in important UI areas, like settings and the notification bar. Having used the Redmi Note 4 in the past, I can tell that this used to be the case for their older devices. This seems to have been done in response to pressure from users and influencers. That being said, their inbuilt preloaded applications do display many advertisements through notifications and can easily be turned off by stopping notifications from said apps. Once this is done, then you won't see advertisements in the phone at all. I must note that Xiaomi's business model for their budget devices revolves around these advertisements (they refer to it as services), it is to be expected in their Redmi line of devices. I am pointing this out to show that there is an extra cost the end user pays for due to the low budget margins of these budget devices, and that cost comes in the form of these advertisements in the UI. This business model is implemented so that they can offer better value as compared to their competitors. While I am not a huge mobile gamer anymore, I have tried playing Battlegrounds India for around half an hour just to see how it was. The game worked well, and there didn't seem to be much of a difference in real time performance as compared to my older OnePlus 7. I did not notice any heating on the device. However, it is to be noted that the OnePlus 7 has a much higher AnTuTu benchmark rating as compared to this phone. While this phone is certainly not a slouch when it comes to gaming, I think that the POCO X3 Pro is a much better pick than the Redmi Note 10 Pro if gaming is a priority given its powerful SD 860 chipset. The speakers are really loud and play music really clearly. They work significantly better than the speakers on my older OnePlus device. I was also happy to get the headphone jack back as well, and it works well with my current KZ Edx OEMs. I'm happy to note that the phone provides the option to expand storage which I definitely will be taking advantage of in the future. So, to sum it up, the phone is a good pick in this price range, due to its well rounded offerings. The camera, the display, the speakers, and the battery life come together to make this phone a good package. There are minor hitches with the software that could be improved in the future, and the vulnerabilities in the build are a cause for concern. However, as long as used properly and carefully, I really don't think that anything will happen to the device. Salient points from the above observations: 1. The phone has a good and premium looking design. However there are questions about the durability. 2. The phone has a great and reliable camera, human faces are given a "beautification" effect by the stock camera. 3. There are issues with the software, such as a flashing display and an aggressive dark mode, along with random freezes. 4. The battery life is quite decent and the phone lasts long. 5. Has an acceptable gaming performance, but there are better picks in this price range for this purpose, like the POCO X3 Pro. 6. Ads are only present in the pre-loaded apps, can be disabled by turning off all notifications from these apps. 7. The phone has a wait time before allowing the bootloader to be unlocked, to be noted if you want to flash a ROM on this device. 10. Has a beautiful display that competes strongly with my older OnePlus 7. Note: I have not used the Fingerprint sensor as I don't want to store my biometric data on the device.

Macro lens in this gets closer than you probably think
This is the best value for price phone right now. Feels light and ergonomic. If this phone feels cheap to you so should most of the phones at 30k range. The photos I've attached are taken from its macro lens. The macro lens has adjustable focus too. The display is amazing. I watched hdr videos and compared it with k20 pro and clearly this has more white to black ratio than k20 pro. The photos from other lens are good too just like any other phone at this price(18000). But they look extraordinary if u can use pro mode. It has stereo speakers and you can clearly tell from which side the sound is coming from if you are playing fps games or watching videos. Fingerprint reader, face ID, you'll not notice the difference if they can be faster than they are in this phone. I hate that currently there is no way to change AOD To stay on permanently, it only stays for 10seconds. This bugs me especially because there is no notification LED. Hope xioami fixes it in the miui 13 update. If you are worrying about ads in the phone know that they can be removed. And if you want to compare camera performance through amazon reviews, you can't because it also Depends on the one who's taking those photos. It's an art. You can take raw photos if you want to see it as it is captured but can't deny the camera is amazing, maybe it's because I moved from redmi 4 to this one. 120hz does make the difference if you are used to 60hz. But don't buy this phone if you're going to put it in 60hz to save battery instead save some money and buy note10s or something else. Miui is not full of bugs it's if anything better than stock android. You get more features atleast. But!!! If you are all about performance or play FPS games or any heavy game at 60fps don't expect this phone to handle them smoothly and know that if you are buying a phone like poco X3 pro you are getting Snapdragon 860 at the cost of losing amoled, adjustable 5mp macro lens(you'll never know u might start using it alot), battery life, lightness. Nonetheless any phone at this price these days is very good. One photo among these is taken on a moving train. First five are from macro lens

A good product but needs a little bit of refining.
It's been about 7 days since this phone got delivered to me. Here is my review about this device: ~Quality of display is quite good. Colours on the samoled panel is pretty good. Faced some minor screen flickering issues here and there but it's not that of a big deal. But the screen adjusts brightness on its own when some apps are launched even when auto-brightness is off. It's very irritating. ~Battery life is not that great inspite of having a big battery. The phone's battery barely lasts a day on moderate use and some very light gaming. Charging speed is not what is mentioned by the brand. It takes about 1hr40min to completely charge the phone. But I am quite satisfied with it. ~Camera is great. It has a number of great features. But the main highlight is the 'super macro lens'. It clicks some pretty nice photos. ~There are some heating issues. The screen and back panel heats even while scrolling social media or watching YouTube. But it's not that severe. ~There are a few bugs lurking around but none that would hamper your experience. Not seen any add notifications till now. So good job Xiaomi. ~Final verdict: This phone has a lot to offer in this price point. Even though it has few shortcomings, but the hardware maintains a good balance. So in my opinion,it is a very good package in this price range.

Stereo dual speakers, Call, network and internet connectivity is good.
Stereo dual speakers, Call, network and internet connectivity is good. That's all good things about this phone. The phone hangs sometimes, some applications doesn't open for few minutes no matter how hard you try to open. I experienced it twice during my use. Background Application Ram management is poor for 6GB Ram. It doesn't memorize the position that we had left before during usage. It frequently reloads the Application and starts it from beginning. Auto brightness is not properly calibrated and doesn't function properly, the sensor has some issue. It keeps the screen bright more than 50% even though i was in very low light condition. Sceen quality is ok and it's peak brightness makes it visible during bright sunlight. Very worst thing is on call recorder which is our default phone dialer. It's Automated voice that " your call is being recorded " speaks out loud when i click Record option. Very crap useless thing which makes the receiver Happy and act accordingly. Both selfie and Rear camera are very average. Battery usage and performance is very average. For a Amoled screen with 60hz refresh rate , with no wifi , GPS on , or with none of background Applications running, Nothing had been synced automatically and with dark mode , i could say the battery with 5020mah should have performed well but it fails. It can last a day with mixed usage. Processor snap dragon 732G performance is also ok, it gets little warmer during this winter cum rainy season but you have to count summer also. Overall average phone and not worth for RS 17999.

An all round phone with a great display
This phone is an amazing buy for the price. Even though it's an all-round phone there are a few cuts being made. Its important for you to know where you are missing out on things. But trust me it's not the important things that you are missing on.... 1. The headphone jack: its not that good a jack, they have given it just for names sake. the audio quality from the headphone jack wasn't that great. Even the budget phone redmi 5a had a way better audio quality via headphone jack. 2.The dual speakers: its difficult to call them really good speakers. but they are good enough. 3. Lastly its just the MIUI. its common with all redmi phones, the bloatware and the heavy skin takes a bit of power out of the SD732 chipset. these were nothing much of big drawbacks. Rest of the good stuff are: brilliant display-great brightness, great clarity, great contrast and along with120 hz its just amazing experience Processor is also good. games can be easily played in above average settings. on continuous gaming phone may get a bit warm, but nothing out of normal. Battery life is pretty good. for media consumption and social media it will definitely come over a day. with slight bit of gaming, video recording, and 120 hz refresh rate on, you deduct a couple of hours from the battery life. charging speed is also good. this ought to be enough for this phone. Alltogether a great value for money with a brilliant display and great specs. This is from my use after 3 days. Didnt see any flickering issue or proximity sensor issue(proximity sensor is not an infrared based one and instead it is ultrasound based , but while picking up your phone while a call senses it perfectly) Edit.....after 3 months of use The battery doesn't seem to be that great. Mostly it might be a problem with the miui. There is a little drain in standby mode (when it's not used ex.during night) So I can only tell that the battery is average. Charging is good but the battery backup isn't that great

Worth for money phone
By considering the overall features this phone will be nice pick. On saying about finger print reader :The phone is not unlocking simply by touching the reader like many other phone. First we must press the power button then we should touch the sensor to unlock the phone(if we press the power button with the finger to be read the the phone will unlock in a single press). It seems good as unnecessary touches will not unlock the phones Camara: Camara is excellent but not extraordinary one. The macro camera is one of the best attraction in this phone. Other cameras are also good but not best. The camera performance not reach up to the mark when considering the 64mp label ,but is good when considering the price Battery life: Like many other redmi phones this phone doesn't have much inbult apps . So the power consumption is less which provides a good battery life. It does not have a large battery. So the phone is very light weight. It's 33w fast charger is awesome. The phone get fully charged under 1.30hrs(approximately). Other features: With the combination of Snapdragon 732g processor and the newest version of miui with less in built apps the phone is great in performence. There is also much less ads. The amoled display is great. The sound output from stereo speakers is loud and clear. I bought the blue one. It is not really blue. It is a combination of blue and white. It looks premium. I am giving this review based on my usage for more than one month. It is worth for its price
