Better instructions for a better cuppa joe
I've had this filter for a year and a half now. Initially, I wrote off this filter because my coffee was dripping slooooowly which lead to a nasty cup of warm coffee. Then, once I scratched the given instructions and experimented a little bit, I started getting a delicious, hot, and quick cup of coffee. Here's what I found works: 1) Start with a course grind. I use the French press setting; 2) After putting the desired amount of ground beans into the filter (I use about 1/4 cup), pour water within the center 1" of the cone. Don't let the water completely drip out if you are not done pouring. This leaves all of the grinds stuck to the walls of the filter and you'll get less flavor. I keep the water hovering between 1/3 and 3/4 full. 3) When you are done with the filter, wash it EVERY time with hot water AND fragrance free dish soap. Simply rinsing the filter will immediately cause it to slow down. It's less complicated than it seems. Either way, the end result is totally worth it. My filter has lasted all of this time and is still going strong despite daily use and cleaning. I'm ordering my next one as a back up. BTW, it's great to take on car camping trips :)

Two Piece Design: Slightly Janky
High quality materials. Nice wide base. Sturdy construction. Right-sized filter mesh. Delicious coffee with or without a paper filter. Two surprises for me, the first specific, the second generic: 1.) This is a two piece device. It can be a little clumsy to handle. In retrospect, I would opt for a one piece filter if I could find one with a wide base. 2.) I am accustomed to using a paper filter. Without one, clean up is a little messy. Grounds all over the sink take a lot of rinsing. I know, it's a nit, but 'something to think about. (so now I usually use a paper filter)

A big disappointment!!
Others may rave about the Cool Beans filter but it is a big disappointment to me. Have followed the instructions precisely over and over, but the water drips through the coffee so slowly it takes 20+ minutes to get a cup of coffee. Maybe the filter I received is faulty. Whatever, it's going in the trash.

Awesome Quality Filter!
I don’t really leave review as you can see from my record. But because of the customer service and the product itself, I’m inclined to leave one this time. First off, I really like the packaging that this came in, would be a great gift idea for me in the future for my fellow coffee addicts. The quality of the stainless steel feels a lot more sturdy than the drippers I’ve tried at the coffee shops near my place. The package came with easy to follow instructions and so I made my first cup of coffee in no time. The taste was great, but I might add more grounds next time to get a stronger coffee. Cleaning was easy too, just as stated on their Amazon descriptions. Held the dripper by the handle, dumped the used grounds in the trash, rinsed through warm to hot water on the mesh and I’m done. All in all, I’m really satisfied with the purchase!

Nice
Perfect pour over reusable filter. Perfect coffee every time. I deducted a start just because, when pouring hot water with the goose neck kettle, the filter's handle gets in the way.

Great affordable product.
The coffee drips well. I am surprised by how fast and easy making good coffee is especially I have used a few other coffee making gadgets myself such as the French press, and another drip set with fabric mesh which are both inconvenient to clean. The packaging was nice and sturdy; therefore the product arrived with no damage. The product is well made, with nice polished metal, generous size so you are able to make a large pot of coffee for 3 or 4 people. Large resting plate so it can fit on top of the large Starbucks plastic cup or a small coffee cup. Nice sized bent handle so it rests firm on your finger without toppling over. I am definitely happy to have made this purchase and being able to make coffee fast and with no hassle of difficult clean up. Most importantly, the coffee tastes fantastic with no extra added taste from the fabric or paper filter.

Great coffee, but slow pour
After using this filter for about a half year, I have to downgrade my rating. The pour is so slow that the coffee gets cold before it's done. I have increased the coarseness of the grind, sifting out the fines; I clean it after every use, etc., and it's still slow. I am now using flat-bottomed paper filters inside this filter, and that is working - the pour is much faster. I really like the idea of this filter, but it's just not working as I had hoped.

Gets every last bit of silt out of the coffee
I bought this to use as a filter for my french press and cold brewed coffee. I always had a lot of coffee silt left in the cup that would sometimes have a bad, chaulky taste. I use this filter just as a strainer between french press and cup, and it works great. The dual filter is great at getting every last bit of extra silt out of the coffee. The only downside is that it does get clogged rather easily to where you have to do a quick rinse out once or twice per mug, but that's just because it's doing it's job.
