Accurate and has adjustment instructions for different cars
This is very useful. My Audi doesn't come with a dip stick and you can't buy one. It's internal electronic, and when my display screen died I was unable to see what the oil level was and became concerned. It does have a blanked off dipstick hole so I thought about what I could do. The engine in this car is unique to the model, it's not fitted to any other Audi model so I thought I was stuck until I found this. It comes with instructions to set up the adjustable dip stick for pretty much any car and had the data for my RS5 and I was astonished to see how accurate it was. I did an oil and filter change, draining all the oil and putting in the correct amount and it came to exactly the right marker on the dipstick. Highly recommended.

Unfit for purpose
It didn't come with any instructions, and seemed to not be able to be for use intended. Nothing short of useless

great tool to verify oil level. I had the 2018 A4 service documents so I could see exactly what the stopper should be set at and the number for the oil level. With the tool level showing 16 (full) the electronic gauge now shows full as well. It is a bit interesting to feed it down the tube as the tube bends to the left once you start pushing it.

As an Audi A6 owner, I can confirm that this adjustable dipstick works perfectly for my 2016 Audi A6, specifically the 3.0L supercharged TFSI model. Adjust the top knurled screw to 132. Insert the dipstick into the tube for the oil (of course, the temporary plug has to be unscrewed and removed). For this particular car, an oil level at 13 on the lower end of the dipstick means the engine oil is at Maximum. Though the MMI oil level may fluctuate from hour to hour, I have found that once it displays the correct oil level, it is consistent with the oil level indicated on the dipstick. Whatever trick the MMI oil lvel sensor plays, the adjustable dipstick reassures you about the amount of oil in the engine. Do not let the dipstick remain in the oil tube -- reinsert the plug back.

It's close enough when you get it, and the numbers can be tough to read, but normal dipsticks don't even have numbers. Easiest way to be confident in the readings is to carefully fill oil until the electronic gage says its full. Set the top slider to where it is suggested and check the level. You can then fine adjust the top slider to adjust the dipstick up or down so that full level is just where you want it to be - whatever number that is doesn't really matter! Now anytime you use it you can see if it is full or how far from full it is... calibrated!

Audi decided that owners didn't need a oilstick on the newer models, you use the MMI to check the level. Most owner preferred the old way and use a oilstick.SInce Audi doesn't sell them and aftermarkets are inaccurate the best option is adjustable ones. Most dealership mechanics have these. You check the length of the OEM ones and adjust it using the sliding knob.Has nice clear markings on so you can see the readings. The quality is very good no sharp edges.

The only way to confirm if electronic oil level sensor is working correctly. I confirmed by changing engine oil after a engine rebuild. Added minimal amount of oil required and then topped off to specification. Gauge confirmed proper level in comparison to the level sensor.
