ProCase Leather Case for Galaxy Tab A 10.1” 2016(NO S Pen Version) -Black

I had read this was frequently returned by customers. I had a very heavy case for years for my 2016 Tab A SMT580 and was tired of holding it up after the handle/stand broke. Someone said it was difficult to get the case to slide into the slot for it. I had no trouble with that at all. I have removed it once since putting it in the case and it was easy to take out and put it back in. I like that it turns off the tablet when I close the lid. I like the option of several angles for the tablet. Unfortunately, I tend to use it most at night when I'm laying down and balance it on pillows. That's not a product problem but if that would change your mind, I thought I'd mention it. I have had no problems using the touch screen or any of the buttons on the side of the tablet. The case itself is nice looking and solid. I suppose if you were carrying it and dropped it, it might open up on you. I have carried it around the house and it sits firm in my hands or on top of books, etc., when I do carry it. My chihuahua likes to wake me up by pawing on the case in the morning. It's not scarred. I purchased it April 12, 2024. I have been using it a lot since I received it. The Velcro closure (where the tablet is inserted) has to be pulled apart and then reapplied after the tablet is in the sleeve. It is a very tight fit for the flap and Velcro (a very good thing). I suggest making sure the tablet is inserted all the way in and to keep from pressing the Velcro until you have also made sure it is well within the sleeve so it holds the tablet most securely. Before you press it down, roll the flap well into the space between it and the case for optimal security of the tablet. I have made notations on the photos - it's taken me a while to get the photos taken and finished. I think a couple have info I forgot to type up here. I really like this case and wouldn't have taken the time to do all this if I didn't. Unfortunately, the tablet is a 2016 model and I have to leave the charger plugged in because the little tongue inside the charger got bent. Not to mention the fact that a 2016 model doesn't take well to updates. But, I use it for very specific things. IF I end up replacing the tablet, wishful thinking?, I hope I get one which fits in this case. I hope this information helps you in your decision about this case. My tablet has an adhesive glass shield on it - it's gotten pretty scarred up over the years. It's 'no reflection' on the case. I probably should replace it with the extra glass shield I have.

I've had this for a year and it's still looking good and holding up well, guess I'd better put in my review. I got this because I had planned on carrying my tablet in a small pack along with reading material and a few other travel items. I wanted a folio to provide protection for the screen but I wasn't looking for a hard case. This fit the bill both pricewise and in features. Good quality material (faux leather: and the seams and joints have been holding up great. The case unfolds to receive the tablet, then folds back, the tablet being held in securely with velcro along the seams of the case, not the tablet itself. I have never had an issue with the tablet coming loose from the case and all the stitching around the seams has not come loose or frayed in any way. One reviewer said their case covers part of the screen, mine hangs over a tiny bit, maybe 1/16th but does not inhibit the viewing area. The magnetic latch works great for me, holds the case shut while in my pack, then wakes the tablet when it's opened. I took a lot of photos on a couple of trips and was constantly opening and closing this thing and it still looks great and covers well. I do treat this with care since it is carried in a backpack, it's not bouncing around loose with a bunch of hard objects, usually just books and magazines. I'm really glad I bought this, I would buy another if needed.

Nice and solid leatherette case for my Tab A. What I like most about it is the outer frame in which the tablet fits directly in and the strap that holds the case closed when not in use. I had purchased another brand before this one that was more like a sleeve for the tablet, which was not a perfect fit and when I close the case, it is really bulky because of too much unnecessary thickness and there was also no strap. I also like the outer design of the case; it gives it a slicker look.

It's okay. Fits my my tablet as expected and suits my style.

I would have expected a higher price for this cover had I picked it up in a store. It is very thick to provide protection for the tablet with a nice faux leather finish. Stirching is all very uniform with no raveled ends. The three strips across the inside hold the tablet nicely in Landscape orientation. The cover closes nicely with a magnet to hold it closed. There are a few minor issues to be aware of. 1) The left and right sides of the case cover the edges of the tablet screen. For most instances this is not a big deal. I have an application that I need to be able to access the edge of the screen but can pull the case back slightly to do so. I have attempted to push the tablet in farther, but it is definitely in as far as it will go. I can work with it. 2) The three strips on the inside to hold the tablet at an angle will ride on the screen when closed. If there is some movement of the cover and dust on the screen, these may scratch the screen over time. Keep them clean. 3) The stylus pen holder is kind of out in space and may catch on things. Not a big deal though. 4) The stylus left smudges on the screen during the first use, but a little wipe with a damp paper towel seemed to clean the stylus up. All in all, I was quite impressed with the apparent quality of construction. Maybe I can update this review later on how the case performs over time.

Let me say this is my second case for my Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I bought my first in July of 2020. Great every day usage. I have dropped it. I have stuffed this in my work bag. I have stuffed it in my purse. I like reading ebooks in my quiet time (lunch, etc.). It got some use. Well in October of 2025, I decided that I needed another because the fold was showing major wear. It had started peeling, and I wanted to update it. I am very pleased with it, and I think a 5 year run for a case is pretty darn good. Would I purchase again? Yep! Would I recommend it? Yep! So buy it already. IT WORKS!

I ordered this case based on reviews. I am pleased with the quality, but I would say that my one reason for an overall rating of four is that the directions for placing the tablet into the case and securing it were unclear to me. I knew I wasn't doing something right and so I sent an email to the seller for support. I never heard anything back. I eventually figured it out on my own and made the necessary correction. However, I came close to returning it until I figured out the problem. I will admit that my tablet doesn't fit in as evenly as I would like, but I plan on keeping it. 12/24/18. Update: This process has been a huge hassle. When I first bought the case, I had issues with the fit. As I previously mentioned, I contacted the company and didn't hear anything. When they reached out to me with the usual check-in to see if I was satisfied, it began a lengthy dialogue which resulted in me ordering a replacement. I was told that I would receive a refund and that I wouldn't have to send the first cover back. Neither of those promises was followed through on. Now I have two covers and I am returning them both. What a waste of time!! 1/7/19 - Final update. This process has been quite an odyssey! After returning the two covers and trying other styles, I decided that for all of the previous hassles, this cover was a better choice for both quality and security of my tablet. Of the three covers I tried, this final one fits the best and it doesn't block my screen like other reviews stated. I am a happy and satisfied customer. I just had to look around and try other options to truly appreciate this cover. It was worth the effort! Plus I love the pattern I ordered on this last go-round 😀

Bought two of these Pro cases, one for wife and one for me. When looking at case reviews for the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 I was really on the fence on whether to buy a case that snapped into a hard bottom with plastic corners or this case where the tablet slides into a leather like pouch. My previous tablet was in a case with plastic corners, and yes, overtime the corners did break. I was concerned about this case covering up part of display. I went ahead and ordered two of them, the black one for me and the purple one for my wife. The cases are extremely nice looking with the black one looking like leather, and the purple one looking like cloth. Both appear to be very rugged and should handle some abuse without damaging tablets. One thing you will notice is tablet and case is about three times as thick as tablet alone and weighs a lot more. To me this is a good thing. When I handled tablet by itself it was thin and light and slippery and I had to be careful not to accidentally throw it. Complaints about the case covering display are true, but the amount of coverage is very very small, maybe a 32nd of an inch. Yes the manufacturer could of shaved off a small amount to make it fit better but to both my wife and I it is not an issue at all. Overall we are both very pleased with this cover and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Also the pocket and the ball point pen/stylus was a nice addition.

Sehr gute Hülle, kaum bis kein Eigengeruch. Steht sehr sicher, dank der 3 Standstreifen, die auch gleichzeitig mit dem Rand dafür sorgen das der Druck bei geschlossenem Deckel gleichmäßig verteilt wird. Dank dickerem "Ledermaterial" auch besser geschützt als einfache Billigteile. Sieh wertiger aus. Das Gewicht ist dadurch natürlich höher, aber das stört mich nicht. Der beigefügte Stift ist auch ganz praktisch ( 1 Seite Kugelschreibermine / andere Seite 1 Gumminoppen für Menschen mit größeren Fingern, falls man bei der Displaytastatur des Tablets Probleme hat die genauen Buchstaben zu treffen.

Firstly I would say make certain you order the right case for your tablet as it appears there are two versions. Mine is Galaxy tab A 2016. To find this turn on the tablet click onto SETTINGS. A new page will appear and scroll down until you see ABOUT TABLET. Click on that and a new list appears which has a heading indicating which tablet you have. The other I believe is 2019. ----- The case itself is well made and the tablet fits perfectly. NO WORKING SECTION IS COVERED. The choice of patterns is wide from plain black to the fun pattern I chose. When it's open it feels firm and reliable.
