Been a fan of Thorlos for years. These socks fit and feel great and wear extremely well.

I purchased Thorlos quarter tennis socks a few years ago. They were the finest athletic socks I have ever owned -- super thick, comfortable, generously sized, and durable. I wanted to buy more of those, but I couldn't find those Thorlos tennis socks on Amazon. But these Thorlos "Mens Thick Padded Walking Socks" came up in my search. From the photos and description they seemed exactly the same as the tennis socks I previously purchased. So I purchased a pair of these. They don't look like the photo at all. When I tried them on I was in disbelief at how skimpy and cheaply made they were. I only take a mens 8 1/2 shoe size, but thes socks are undersized even for me. They seem to be meant for young boys, not adult men. They are only thick in a few places, and are extremely thin on other parts of the sock. The pair I received don't look at all like the photo. They hardly extend up the ankle -- only about 2 inches or less. And they are only moderately comfortable, seeming to squeeze the foot too tight because of their undersizing. I paid $10.61 for 1 pair on sale, and no way are they worth anything close to that cost. I would say they are worth maybe $2 per pair. I am glad I didn't order a 3-pack! Very dissapointed!

These socks are like comfort food for your feet...they are awesome! I really never thought too much about my socks, but I have plantar fasciitis and a bunion and had noticed that tight or too thin socks were bothering me. I bought these socks off a clearance rack because their cover said "for feet that hurt". Best purchase I ever made! I returned to the store to buy more (of course, they were gone), so had to order extras. They do best if washed cold, air dried, and fluffed in the dryer; they retain their shape, don't shrink, and don't make your feet hot. You will not regret buying these socks...think walking on little cushions! I don't know what the difference is between the walking/running socks -mine are walking-but your feet will thank you!

I'm very disappointed with the quality of Thorlos over the past couple of years. I started wearing them well over 20 + yrs. ago due to foot damage from years of running in the wrong shoes and unpadded socks. I needed well padded heels, toes as well as the "bridge" of the sock between heels/toes. Also the cuffs of those I have purchased over the past several years has changed and have gotten lower-the Walking sock cuff was just high enough (1 3/4 "), entire cuff is all the same weave with elastic in the weave so, the top never stretched out. NOW all the cuffs are shorter (1 1/2) that is a 2-part...bottom of the cuff has elastic, top part does not-appears to be a different weave- and the top weave stretches out just from putting the sock on AND, the padding of the bottom of the sock is NOT as substantial as all my OLD ones! How I wish the quality of Thorlos now was the same that it was decades ago! No other sock on the market has ever had the padding design like Thorlos, so, I can't find anything to replace them with even though their standards of design/padding have, in my opinion, definitely lowered.
