It worked for my small wall and ceiling knockdown texture repairs using thinned out joint compound. Easy to redo if didn’t turn out great first time. After everything was repainted only I know the parts I fixed.

There is definitely a trick to repairing holes in knockdown walls, and then spackling the repair to match the knockdown texture. I am not sure how much success is due to the sponges themselves versus learning the technique. It took me a couple of tries before I got a technique down that worked. These walls were filled with holes and scrapes, I repaired them one day and then the next day applied spackle with these sponges. I waited about seven minutes after applying, and then used a plastic scraper to gently smooth the jagged peaks. Then we painted with one coat of Sherwin-Williams Captiva, semi gloss, and you honestly cannot see where the repairs were.

I had opened up a wall and had to do some sheet rock repair work and some texturing. Nothing too big you know but big enough. So I bought a can of that spray texture thinking that’ll do the trick well a can of that was like seven or eight bucks or maybe it was nine but it didn’t go very far. I would need another two or three cans that look like. So I bought the sponges on Amazon and the sponge worked unbelievably well much better than that dumb can I had a bucket of texture so I had plenty of that And I just watered it down a little and dabbed it on let it set a little and hit it with the trial to knock it down, and that was it and it looks perfect and match the rest of the texture perfectly

Great for drywall patches and retexturing. Easy to match up existing texture pattern.
