I don't know why all these other people are getting free stuff but it's not cool unless I'm getting free stuff too. Now that that's out of the way, it's a $28 USB camera with really close focus and a ring of LED lights. It's not some lab grade microscope, don't think you're getting a supersonic piece of professional equipment in a little white box from china that can't even spell microscope properly on the front. That being said, this thing is kind of awesome for what it is. If you need to inspect small things, coins, stamps, currency, knife edges, jewelry, trumps hands, science projects, your hair, whatever, this thing will do it cheaply and quickly. It installed with no problems and no software load, just plug and play and when I opened the camera app on windows 8, it was operating. It worked well enough to get my son interested in science again ... he ordered his own once I took mine back.
