Digital Caliper, 8" Caliper Measuring Tool Extreme Accuracy Waterproof Electronic Vernier Caliper Industrial Stainless Steel Digital, Durable Measuring Tool with Large LCD Screen

Purchased for non-professional use (home garage vehicle maintenance and repair). Not being used for scientific or engineering metrology, so I am not evaluating specification resolution and accuracy. Well designed instrument, very nice large LCD screen with easy to read display that includes readouts in millimeters, inches and fractions (...!). 4Cr13 martensitic stainless steel construction, zero setting, locking screw, inside/outside/depth measurements. Modestly priced. Only drawbacks - the display is not backlit and the black plastic carrying case is marginal quality/not foam lined. Very pleased customer here. Hope this helps.

Great value

This Dial Caliper was much larger than my past units I have that quit working. The battery on this one stays connected whereas my others always had issues in that area. Honestly thats why I ordered a new one because the battery compartment doesn't seem to hold the battery in place enough to keep the caliper working. They were the average models mostly sold for cheap here. So far it works good, if it starts causing me issues I will update y review for sure.

Great caliper and a great price.

I love cheap calipers for daily use. These are the best. Even a machinist should have a pair of these in the shop for measuring everything you only need +|- .005" accuracy for. I really like not having the "spin wheel" for find adjustment. I thought I'd miss it, but I quickly came to prefer not having it. Just tap it a little. Get the 8" because they feel better in your hand. And you can measure 7.9" objects. (Can't do that with the 6" model.)

Fit is well. Using not easy. Quality not bad but expect it better. Auto- off working. Accuracy make been better quality.

Gets a 1 solely for the fact that after 3 years of having it, and using it on the handful of occasions (Legit only used it about three times), it now won't turn on, even after swapping between three new and different batteries. Don't bother, look elsewhere for a caliper measuring tool.

These things are awesome. I have the red/black metal version. Came with an extra battery even though the battery it came with is still going strong a year and half after heavy use. Comes with a case too, but if you use it as much as I do, it'll never go in the case. I'm buying a second pair so I don't have to keep moving this crucial tool back and forth from the garage to my office.
