Very little dripping of solution like other machines we have, other than right at the end, which is even just limited to what has been pumped there. This thing works upside down, vertical, etc. as can be attested by my kids play with it. This is a toy where a parent can fill it up and just let them go, no need to monitor or worry really. Plus, you don't have to blow the bubbles, which is great. Filling just involved unscrewing the bottle provided, adding in solution from a bulk container (purchased separately) and screwing smaller bottle back in place. I think most smaller standard bubble bottles would screw in the slot, but have not tried.
