It has a greater deterrent field intensity than Sharkbanz 1 or 2. Principle is the same.

I am in interested in the leash it's quite a bit (which is fine) I know the technology works, but what happens when the leash portion itself breaks?

Great question. The cords are fully interchangeable with almost all other leash cords from almost all brands, so you can easily swap them out using a standard fin key. This also allows you to use the sharkbanz cuff with any length/strength leash - longboard, comp, standard, etc. Comes with standard 6'. Cheers!

Worth a try!

It can't hurt to have one! My family of surfers - four of them - all have one. Have used it in Fiji, Mexico, California and North Carolina. The customer service has been great - as we had an issue with the box to store it in. What do you have to lose - give it a try.
