Notably, today an office mate received his Varidesk of the same size. Not only is the Varidesk $100 more, it is not nearly as nice as the FlexiSpot, for several reasons. First, the Varidesk lifts with spring action, which is much harder to raise and lower than the Flexispot pneumatic assist. Several of the shorter/average height women in the office had a lot of problems raising the Varidesk, and some could not lower it. The FlexiSpot on the other hand was easy for all to raise/lower. Second, the base of the Varidesk is deeper, and hangs over the desks in our cubes, while the FlexiSpot fits perfectly. Third, the Varidesk moves forward when it raises, so the unit becomes top heavy, particularly with the overhang of the base. The FlexiSpot raises and lowers straight up and down so stays more stable. Fourth, the Varidesk has more cutout area, meaning that the FlexiSpot has more real estate for monitor, laptops, paperwork, etc. Finally, I should mention that the problem with the keyboard tray noted in many reviews has been corrected - they have recessed bolts into the tray, so attaching the brackets is no problem, and stays very sturdy. Also note, I am 6'7", and this unit at its tallest is a perfect fit.Overall, the FlexiSpot, after side by side comparison with the Varidesk, is clearly the winner. This desktop gives plenty of surface room and the height up or down is easy to adjust. I am a female (age 59) and was able to put this together myself with no assistance or problems. I am able to raise or lower this unit smoothly in as little as two seconds and am super excited to finally have what I've been looking for. Instructions were clear with no problems encountered with assembly or usage. For the dual monitors, I chose the heavy duty VIVO dual LCD monitor desk mount stand which was also easily installed and works flawlessly with this unit. This is a short voluntary review and I highly recommend it. You will NOT be disappointed! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice design, some initial problems with keyboard tray *by T***L on Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2016* I have had this desk for over a week now. It set up quickly, but I did encounter one snafu where a piece did not fit into the track of the platform. I was able to fix it with the help of another person. I have been disappointed with the keyboard tray. Although there are spaces for nine screws to attach the tray, I only received four screws. Simply putting pressure on the keyboard tray due to normal typing and using the mouse has already caused the keyboard tray to detach at the back. I cannot use the existing screw holes anymore because the back of the board is made of particle board and has already stripped out. I have attached pictures showing where dust has accumulated on my desk below these spaces, and where the screws fall out. I am not sure how I plan to fix this yet, but will probably have to epoxy them in. Until then, I have a wobbly keyboard tray that I have to make sure not to rest my wrists on as I type or use the mouse.9/7/16 Edit: Since I left my initial review, I was contacted by a company customer service representative who had a new keyboard tray shipped free of charge with the necessary screws (my original review misstated the number of spaces for screws; there are 8 pre-drilled holes). I used wood glue in each hole before using a screwdriver to install the screws. It has been about a week and the tray is holding up well now. The desk moves up and down easily. Another key to making sure this desk will work for you is to have a chair that raises to the correct height.
