Product photo shows a circle/groove between the outer edge and hex area - is that accurate? (Need for a restoration project)

The 5 I have, have the groove. This is a small groove perhaps 0.015" deep.

Are these plugs lead free?

I don't think this answers the question. Brass has lead. There are 3 types of brass - has lead, lead free (actually a little bit of lead) and no lead certified. So are these suitable for drinking water under the new No Lead regulation?
