It's worked very well in my home office. I thought it crapped out, but after starting to install a replacement, I found the issue to be my plugging it into the PC's USB-A directly rather than a USB-A power adapter and connecting to PC via Bluetooth. Apparently, the PC's USB-A does not provide sufficient power to charge the speaker battery (maybe after a few years the battery draw to charge is higher?), resulting in the speaker not working.
