I'd consider getting one before, like many good products, something more complicated but not as reliable is introduced and this one phased out.Here's the important facts:1. Very well built with quality materials and construction. IPX8 waterproof to 3ft., and 'drop-proof' to 3ft.2. Reliable Twisty Operation (twist the head tight to turn on the light, and twist to off and then back on to advance brightness mode from low to medium to high. Twisty operation means when the light is twisted a half turn off, there is no accidental activation or 'standby power drain'. Yet, if you want, you can twist to 'just off', and press against the side of the head for momentary operation.3. Memory mode! When you twist to off, the light will remember the brightness mode you were at and when you twist back on, you'll have the same brightness.4. VERY bright HIGH 450 Lumen mode if you choose to invest in a Lithium Ion 14500 cell (a half dozen dollars) - but don't confuse that 3.6v battery for a standard 1.5v battery and use it in something else, or you'll damage that something. Otherwise the light is plenty bright with either Alkaline (not recommended), NiMH rechargeable, or Lithium Iron primary cells. The light has a 1.5 Lumen low (quite dim - useful in the dark of night not to blind yourself with light), 30 Lumen medium (useful in general to look for stuff in dim places inside and under), and 150 Lumen high (useful to see into the distance at night)5. The flat bottom can "tail stand", allowing the light to be a "bounce candle", lighting up a small room by reflecting light off the ceiling. The flat bottom is threaded (about 1/4-20). So you can thread this onto a tripod for lighting, too. Some have put 6mm rare-earth magnets into the hole to provide magnetic tail 'suction'.6. Included are a nice wrist lanyard, a pocket clip, and extra O ring seal. Not included is the JetBeam DD-01 "window breaker" spiked tip that will screw into the threaded tail of the light (looks quite aggressive).7. This seller bundled a bright USB flash-key-size multi LED chip light - of course to be useful you'll need a USB flexible extension or you can plug this into any size USB recharger brick to make a bright spotlight.8. Another add-on to consider is a 3/4" silicone diffuser top cap. You can find a kit of 3 of these in White, Green, and Red (CountyComm).9. What doesn't it have? While not best implemented with twisty operation, a strobe mode would've been nice to have for an urban setting.Finally, I don't recommend Alkaline cells for any electronic gear not used continuously to end of cell life and promptly replaced. Alkaline cells LEAK and destroy gear... it's only a matter of how long a time. The relatively new Lithium Iron cells (not rechargeable) last over a decade without leaking or significant self-discharge, excellent for in-the-drawer or in-the-glove-box "ready when you need it" electronic gear. For general every day use, consider the next generation, low self-discharge NiMH rechargeable cell. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great daily carry light if anyone is on the fence about whether to get one! *by E***. on Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2019* I love this little light so much that I've bought it twice now. I lost my first one. I like the compact size and the 3 brightness modes. I use the dimmest mode the most probably because I work in a lot of dark environments and that setting is perfect when your eyes are already adjusted to the dark. The high setting is suprisingly bright for such a small light, even with a standard AA battery! As far as the USB light that comes with the bundle, I dont have a lot of use for it. Its bright though, if anybody figures out something to do with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Best Every Day Carry (EDC) flashlight for the money! *by Z***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2018* This inexpensive little light is my choice for EDC (Every Day Carry) because it is very well-built/sturdy, reliable and SMALL enough to not be obtrusive. I own at least a half-dozen of these, and for the last few years I, quite literally, NEVER leave home without one in my pocket (just like my wallet, keys, cellphone, pocket knife, mini-combo tool kit device and mini-pepper spray can - that contains the same high-powered chemical components that most police departments use, as well as the military. What can I say? It's a cruel and dangerous world. Best to be prepared. ("It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.") P.S. I also keep one in the glove box of both my vehicles, as well as two or three in various rooms in my home. The best, inexpensive, EDC flashlight. There are a couple other brands and models that I also have that are two to three times brighter than this one, just as durable, and even a bit smaller, but most people (I'm NOT one of them) won't want to - or can't afford to - spend $60.00 to $80.00 a piece for them. I even have four larger flashlights that cost $150.00, that are highly durable and reliable in bad weather, being dropped and run over without damage, AND sport a Lumen level of 1,250 with five different brightness modes. My "bad" boys cost over $400.00 (on sale -$600.00 not on sale), and sport 5,000 and 10,000 Lumens (the latter is the choice of many professional rescue personnel, and are small enough to be carried by hand). Like I said, you can NEVER be too prepared! But I realize that many people have other priorities ($600.00 - $1,200.00 cell phones - and higher). My priorities are just a bit different. These lights are NOT the right gear to use in searching for missing people in the wilderness or out on lakes in bad storms, BUT they ARE still great little lights for use in minor emergencies (changing a tire at night, in the rain).
