Plano 23620-01 Stowaway with Adjustable Dividers

Plano Stowaway products are very simple, and reliable that I have and will continue to purchase. The 23620-01 is one that I purchase almost exclusively because of the clear plastic which allows me to see what's inside from all angles, the latches snap shut without being so loose they freely open, and the flexibility to adjust the spacing allows me to modify and reuse containers as I see fit. I would purchase and recommend this to anyone who is looking to organize anything small. For my usage, the 23620-01 is perfect for keeping nuts, bolts, and screws organized while keeping the overall weight to a minimum making it easier to handle. The other reason I chose this size is because it is about the same size as a standard book, allowing me to store them right on my bookshelf - Helpful if you are a hobbyist stuck in an apartment. Finally, just as a personal touch, with a little help from using MS Excel, I was able to create labels for the inside, front, and back to easily identify what's inside - turned out to be a good winter project. Update 10-11-2017 I am still collecting the 23620-01 and satisfied with the purchase I made! I hope they never discontinue this style because I have over 100 of these in the shop to sort all the small nuts and bolts

2026 update: These have survived moving very well, and still great. 2024 update: I still use these for my nendoroid parts and they've traveled across the country with me, in large shipping boxes shipped via UPS, and they're still a fave. I've readjusted the dividers so many times and they still work perfectly. You can definitely buy these for life imo 2015 review: I use this to store my nendoroid pieces and faceplates. The slots are just right for the face plates and it's nice to be adjustable because I've been able to fit even big pieces like the big flowy skirt of the Princess of the Crystal in it. I bought a second box because these are just perfect for storing the parts.

I have about nine of these for storing Perler, Nabbi, and Hama beads and love them. I greatly prefer these to the craft storage boxes I've had in this price range. First off, the size of the compartments are adjustable. I can make small compartments for those colors that I just have a handful of, or I can split the rows in half to accomodate 1000 bead packs. Secondly, the compartment dividers are very flush with the lid, so that you can turn these upside down and sideways without the beads mixing. Third, they are very sturdy and the latches close it very securely. I've dropped them and they've never popped open and spilled my beads. My only minor complaint is that the row where the handle is has a big indent where you can't put dividers. This section is a little awkward since having the indent in the middle limits the size of compartments you can make. It's not a big enough deal to knock this below five stars, and I've been able to work around it ok, but I wish the handle were designed a little differently.

This product is great. Sturdy construction and a great size for what I use it for, which is to store my extra S.H. Figuarts parts, e.g., hands, hair, arms, etc. Usually it only takes one compartment space per figure, although I had to use two for Piccolo because of his folding arms. There are two reasons I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. The first reason is that the dividers don't come pre-cut, and they're annoying to cut because I'm not sure exactly where to cut. The second reason is that they're not 100% flush with the bottom of the box, which isn't a big deal for fishing bait (what this box is intended for) but a couple of albeit very small parts have gone from one compartment to the next and I thought I had lost them. It's a good product that I recommend to any figuarts collector, but one that might have cut a few corners during production, which is why it doesnt deserve a perfect score.

A good buy

I have a particular fondness for Plano boxes, large and small. This one works very well for organizing electrical wire connectors (round terminals, spade terminals, etc. ). Plano boxes are durable, easy to set up, come in a variety of sizes, and I don't have to worry about the latches (which are on axles) breaking off from repeated opening and closing. These are quality products for organizing and storing small parts in the shop.
