Final Fantasy XIII 2 (Xbox 360)

After the mediocrity that was FF 13 with all the complaints from fans it received i truly feel this game redeems the quality and epic nature that is suppose to be a FF game. If you just can't let go of the changed fighting mechanics from 13 than you most likely wont like this version but know that you definitely are missing out. No more filler for the sake of filler, no more 25 hours before the game gets going. Paced beautifully this game takes you from past to future to paralleled universes to alternate worlds all without making it feel forced. FF 13 story is reflected upon and integrated nicely so new players are not left out. To me they hit the epic mark in this installment and it's been awhile since i felt that way (i just don't like the ending). I could go on and talk about everything i like but then whats the point? Go play it for yourself.

The game itself is very great. In fact the only problem you may have with 13-2 is that it veers away from what triggers nostalgia from the original 13. E.g My favorite character is Sazh, yet you can only use and interact with him via DLC. Also, in my opinion i liked it better when you could have 3 people in your party instead of monsters. Or rather i would prefer S.E had made it so you could alternate. While it is cool to fight along side a chocobo and a behemoth id rather have a person since not only can you change their paradigms but you may also switch to them and use them strategically. There has been Large improvements in the battle system , but at the same time it will be harder to achieve a 5 star rating. The only thing i find annoying is the random spawning of enemies, now and then i do not feel like battling. I understand in certain levels they add on to the story and point to the level but hey everyone would want a break every now and then. In terms of 13 and 13-2 (when it comes to leniency)13-2 allows or rather forces you to explore different levels, even more so to expand your horizon and capabilities to move on into the story, the puzzles and mysteries are very great. But to some gamers they may not like all that freedom. I loved the original 13 because it was easy to follow as it was lenient but it allowed you to explore the world on pulse freely. The story on 13 was easier to follow as a result, many who play ff13-2 may end up being confused should they enter places and cut scenes and wrong times despite the fact that events must take place before hand. But to combat this, the developers made it so you can unlock new levels in accordance to how much you have completed in the previous and current level such as collecting artifacts or fragments. A key thing to note is the fact that you can now JUMP AT WILL. simply pressing the [B/O](XBOX/PS3) will make your character jump, the auto jump has been disabled which is a cool adjustment. I do not want to spoil anymore, but i will say that you will be traveling across time, paradoxes, and even dimensional space time rifts along your journey. Bottom line a lot of innovations were made and if you didnt like the original 13 then this one may sway you into playing 13 again. I havent even finished the game yet and along the way the cut scenes that features the events of the original's events will make you nostalgic. Even if this isnt true for some of you this game is surely worth it as the game continues as DLC, yes that rights.. DLC. mainly because the story and additional content which isnt mandatory unless you REALLY want the full experience of what this game has to offer. Anyway, i would recommend this game to anyone. Give it a shot (the beginning isnt very strong but you will be held later on) and you may even be playing this a 3rd time in a few weeks or so. P.S you may want buy the guide with this game, trust me it is VERY helpful when you get stuck. as a i said before you have a lot of freedom so along the way you may not have gotten what you have needed to continue. Trust me.

I loved the fact that I received my game within 20 hours of purchasing the game, the graphics are awesome can not wait to finish this one.
