Starship Troopers: Invasion

I thought going in this would be an ok movie. It is animated so how good could it be right? Just wow, This ended up being the best of the entire collection. This movie is really intended for those of us that read the novel and are Heinlein fans. Though there are a lot of fun references to the previous movies. One of the problems of doing this book live action is that the technology really does not currently exist. In animation you can achieve anything and they do. Ok onto what you really want to know. One disc which contains the movie, previews and special features. I will say I enjoyed the previews too. Some really good movies coming out. The Special features are over the top good! Filmmaker Commentary; Deleted Scenes; and they both really should have been deleted. Gag Real; This was just fantastic. I was unsure if some of these were real gags or the setup gags like you see in Pixar stuff. It was all vocal and nothing changed in the scenes so these might really have been mistakes the Director shared with us. The Making of Starship Troopers: Invasion; This includes 11 different little documentaries about the movie. They were quite well done. They include ~Genesis ~Archive ~Character Design ~Motion Capture ~Powersuits ~Bugs ~Ships ~Animation ~Backgrounds ~Composting ~Music. Again I found this to be quality entertainment for the cash I parted with.

I was absolutely stunned by this Movie! I m a fan of the First Movie, which was damn good! However, the Starship Troopers franchise lost me with the (two) crappy sequels. Movies 2 and 3 were terrible! But this one...Movie 4. Wow! Stunning Animation, great script, ...a great (save) for the franchise. I HIGHLY recommend to the franchise to contract the writers and producers of this Animation sequel to also create 5, 6, 7, etc. This Movie was so great I had to see it again and again, (3) times in a row, over a 3 day period. You have to be a(gamer)to appreciate the video CG Animation, and also be a fan of the very First Starship troopers Movie to truly understand and appreciate this latest installment. I think this movie saved this franchise, and gave it new life. So let's do a Number(5)in full CG animation and see where all goes. Buy this Movie NOW!!! Its money well spent ...Buy it on Blue Ray only!

This is a fantastic adaptation of Starship Troopers. This film combines elements of the original Novel, the Movie (the first one), and the CGI series and forms them into it's own story. The action is very well done, the cgi is very good, the voice acting is well enough with descent lip syncing (being made in Japan I was worried about this and was surprised that it mostly works out), the characters have enough depth to move the story along, and there are plenty of nods to the other works with the Starship Troopers name. This is a must have for any fan of the other works based on Robert Heinlein's novel. For those who are fans of sci-fi action and mecha, they should also give it a watch; even if they don't love it, they will still not regret watching it.

Parts 2 and 3 are piss poor movies with good actors, bad direction, and are cheap ploys to make a quick buck off of the us real fans of the franchise. Trust me im being nice! This movie is kind of a restart that more closely imitates the book (according to the Japanese makers of this film) but it is a pretty good add on to the first flick! I was expecting a realy cheesy movie with horrible motion artifacts and boring gaps of wasted time and OK CG effects that make the hole thing barely tolerable. I was soooooo wrong! There CG work is detailed and well thought out and the special effects are fantastic. The story is big in scope and rather scary when the bugs' plan is finaly revealed. The threat of the bugs has been stepped up bigtime. As an ameture computer animator I can spend alot of time critisizing a lot of little things the Japanese animators did wrong or mostly wrong but im not going to do that. However I will say 3 things that are common problems I see in this movie and in 2D anime. 1. There was 1 to many "glory" shots! Some of the ladies got these slow sexy shots that started at their feet all the way up to their faces. All this while being naked. Males are obviously the target audience here. 2. There were a couple of non-action situations that could've gone better. The Japanese typicaly have some guy (or gal) who is the hardass in custody, soon to be released, or emotionally distant from everyone else who later comes to save the day. Sound familiar anime lovers? 3. Although this film did a much better job of it, most of the characters were very similar in appearance. The women in particular. All that said the movie is kick ass with awesome surround sound, crisp HD picture, and some stunning brutal visuals! Im very happy this movie is in my collection. Im a fan of the Staship Trooper franchise and this is the jolt I have been looking for after the nightmare of the 2nd & 3rd movies.

Its true, this is an all CGI (Computer Generated Image) movie not a live action movie. None of the actors in the movie are real people. So what? Its still a well made movie, with GREAT CGI and a decent plot but some pretty lame dialogue. I bought a used Blu-Ray disc, it arrived in 4 days and came in the original plastic case. Both the case and the disc were in great shape. Plays fine on my Sony Blu-ray player with 1080p resolution. The detail is amazing.

This is a great fan for all Starship Troopers franchise. It mixes both from the novel by Robert A. Heinlein and the first Starship Troopers movie. Fans of both movie and book will be satisfied with it. The story is not that complicated to understand. It is one of those pop corn movies that you just watch for fun and do not care too much of the story arc. Great film, loved the action scenes. I mean come-on who doesn't want to kill bugs. Plus since this is on sale for under $20 it is a great blu-ray addition to your growing library. Also watch the end of the cut scenes there is a little something at the end.

This is a great animated movie. I enjoyed it very much. I think "Starship Troopers: Invasion" falls in with the series very well. Keep in mind that there is some nudity and swear words in this title, as such it may not be appropriate for kids. Get the kids Roughneck Chronicles instead. The only negative for me was that the characters looked different from the actors in the movie. Maybe the authors could not do it for legal reasons, but I would have enjoyed the cartoon more if Carmen Ibanez looked like Denise Richards, Carl Jenkins like Neil Patrick Harris. Johnny Rico does look a little like Casper Van Dien, though. Overall: excellent work. Keep it up!

The graphics were great but the characters seemed too stereotypical and over the top. I feel it would've been a lot better if it had stayed closer to the "Roughnecks" series given the audience it was aimed at. And as far as making it seem like the characters had military training, next time get a real military advisor. Simply lining guys up and laying down a 'wall of lead' is hardly going to ensure you will win a battle. If you are going to all that trouble of putting details in the CGI to make it look real you should do the same with the characters and how they would act in a combat situation. Still, it was worth watching.

I put this on pre-order when i watched the little trailer, something I never do with blu ray titles, because the clip looked amazing visually and because I love good CGI. The clip looked to be just like very high quality cut scenes in good production value Video Games. When I started watching the actual movie I found I had some small criticisms such as the character rendering, lip sync, texturing and colours could have done with some improvement whereas all the solid objects etc were beautifully done.... I also started to think oh well, great looking as it is this is going to be another cliched Starship Trooper movie, same old formula as the others...yawn... Actually nothing to fear...at times breathtakingly beautiful and full of stunning, crisp, clear and colourful detail on my 1080p 50 inch plasma this is a stunning movie and even a good little story. I really found myself thoroughly enjoying this and worth every penny of the £15 I spent. Even got emotionally attached to some of the characters...Yes the original main trio are all here as well as some new additions. If you like high quality CGI movies and enjoyed the Resident Evil Movies and The Final Fantasy Movies you have to have this movie in your collection....The quality of the artwork and rendering seemed to improve as the movie went on as if the team working on this became more flourished and practiced as they went along..... If I'm honest I believe this is THE best quality CGI I have ever seen, and a whole movies worth....Good Job Stage 6 Films. Overall verdict, absolutely loved it!

このシリーズが好きな人にはお勧めですが、実写版と違うので、そこは妥協しなくてはいけません。 シリーズに出演した俳優が好きとかの人はダメです。 あくまでも人間対バクの戦争を単純に楽しみたい人向けですが、実写版のファーストシリーズの続きも楽しめます。 私は気に入りました。

La versión italiana de Starship Troopers Invasión viene con audio en castellano al igual que el menú del disco, que también viene en castellano. Película muy recomendada para todos a los que les guste la animación o la ciencia ficción.
