A Masterpiece for Photographer.
The Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5–5.6 GM OSS lens is nothing short of a masterpiece in Sony’s G Master lineup. Designed with professionals in mind, it blends remarkable optical performance, impressive versatility, and solid handling, making it an outstanding all-rounder — not just for wildlife and sports, but also for landscapes, portraits, aviation, and even tight urban scenes where reach and detail matter. This lens is razor-sharp — even wide open. Across the entire zoom range. The bokeh is smooth and pleasing, which is notable for a lens with a variable aperture. The autofocus is blazing fast, quiet, and accurate, thanks to its dual linear motor and Direct Drive SSM (Super Sonic wave Motor) system. I have started using on Sony alpha 7v recently purchased camera. Weighing around 1.4 kg, it’s remarkably manageable for a lens that reaches 400mm. The build quality is premium. OSS renders effective stability. The Sony 100-400mm GM is more than a telephoto lens — it’s a tool of precision and creativity that adapts to nearly every shooting environment. While not cheap, its performance justifies every rupee. Whether you’re a wildlife shooter needing reach, a portrait photographer craving compression and isolation, or a travel shooter needing versatility — this lens delivers.Lastly but not least, the lens was delivered well ahead of promised date and efficiently. I expected a bit more robust packing for this valuable item.
