I've tried multiple of the fully in-ear types, all more expensive, all with particular problems: fragile design, poor battery life, poor noise reduction, or bad sound quality.Yes- This is a corded device, but has great battery performance of a common battery. Excellent audio quality, excellent noise protection, and so far seems to be extremely rugged.Another benefit- this has the ability to pass an external audio source through to the earphones. After using these for a few months: save your money and buy something else.The whole point of electronic ear pros is that they provide active hearing protection with the added bonus of allowing one to hear communications without having to take off your ear pros.Here's a line from their marketing materials: Provides active hearing protection (NRR 25), hear-thru capability for situational awareness.This and along with their other features, I thought I'd found a great pair of ear pros. So, I'd bought them, hoping they would be my last pair of ear pro. Little did I know, they didn't work as advertised.After taking them to a gun match, I was thoroughly disappointed. While others are actively shooting, I had a hard time hearing any on going conversations. It seems the system had cut off all sounds, including high and low decibels. Therefore, when I was engage in a conversation, and gun shots are going off, I couldn't hear the other person talking. It was like someone pressing mute on the TV.That "hear-thru capability..." is complete BS. After talking with the customer rep., this is what they'd said: At 112dB, the Pro cuts off the active hear-thru mic entirely, thus providing the user with maximum passive attenuation, until the noise levels fall back to 112dB or lower.While some might think the hearing protection level is great, I find this system proves to be more dangerous.The primary reason to have active hearing protections is for complete situation awareness. This should include the ability to hear low decibel nose (conversations / directions) while high decibel sounds are going off. This is very important to be able to hear the instructions of the range officer during the course of fire. Without the ability to hear commands degrades the safety on the range.I can get similar type of electronic protection system from a pair of ear pros that cost 1/5th of this system. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Cool idea, bad electronics *by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2018* This is for the Clarus pro. This is the second one I have purchased. First one came directly from Israel. Second one came directly from Silynx. Their warranty is very fickle. If you purchase one make sure you have a digital copy that Silynx can open. Also it has to be one of their vendors. They would not cover the first one. Second one was purchased on Amazon and fulfilled by Silynx. So shipped directly from Silynx. They (Silynx) still wanted a copy of the invoice from Amazon to have a RMA. Failure wise. First one became sound intermittent at the right earpiece. If I held the cord just right at the strain relief on the unit it would work. It finally just failed. Second one did the same thing. I was able to return it to Silynx for a refund. They do not pay for return shipping. Operation is a lot of button pushing. Hear thru off, low, med, high, super normal hearing. So to get to hear thru off its 4 clicks up and then 4 clicks down. Its fast but no mode switch between settings. That would be to cool. I used it for 16 hours a day, 3 days a week in aviation. I used a molded in earpiece for them. The attenuation with foam in my opinion is worthless. Thats a whole another topic. I use acrylic IEM’s, silicone in ear sports monitors and straight up molded in ear hearing protection. Customer service if you keep calling long enough you might get someone. Their concept is you leave a message they call back when its convenient for them but may not be so convenient for you. They answer email’s faster. Just no response like a conversation. Silynx had recommended the FX series for my use. It is a custom build up which I really don’t need. Cord and strain relief looks the same. High dollar unit with a short warranty. One year. Power consummation is high with a external device. I used a mp3 player on the audio input. First one had a nasty ground loop buzz. Used a ground loop isolator and that fixed that, well just not so bad. Just had to up the volume on the mp3. I used the isolator on the second one and that fixed the power consumption. I don’t know if the electronics where changed recently. I asked Silynx but never got a answer. The cord slide on the earpiece wires loses friction fast.
