All were plastic, a few were missing, and many had battle wounds from garbage disposals and stove tops. So, a nice "grown-up" set has been in the back of my mind for a while. I knew I wanted metal, but what I like about these is the little added bonus of squishy silicone. Not only does this add a little cushion, I like that they have some color, which wasn't an attribute I was looking for originally. They're incredibly sturdy and made of high-quality materials, so hopefully I won't need to buy another set ever again. The handles are coated with silicone, so they're very easy to grip, and also don't get hot it you're holding them over a glass stove.I can mix ingredients right in the cups before adding them to whatever I'm making, and although the spoons are round they're deep and small enough to fit in practically any spice jar.
