BeeCastle 8 Frame Langstroth Bee Hive Coated with Beeswax Includes Beehive Frames and Waxed Foundations (2 Deep Boxes & 1 Medium Box)

These are well-made hives and have a nice dove-tail system in the corners of the boxes that fit nicely together. Solid boxes and the walls are thick, sturdy & wax covered as it should be. They are just as easy to put together as others that I have bought which is a bit time consuming, but not at all difficult. The only disappointing thing (which is my fault that I didn't read the detail), is that the bottom on this is solid. I wanted one that had the screen at the bottom above the solid bottom. You can get it, but it is sold separately with this company which it was included with others that I've bought. All in all, seems to be a solid hive.

These beehives are very sturdy. It comes in a box disassembled but it's not hard to put it together...just takes a bit of time since you have to assemble all the frames as well as the main structure. Comes with a plastic queen excluder, a bottom brood box, 2 honey boxes, a roof, and an entrance limiter. Highly coated in wax so you don't have to paint or stain it. Looks really good. I built 2 of these. It did take a good few hours but that's because you have to assemble each frame with glue and nails but everything fits perfectly once you get it assembled. Update: I bought a third one of these and parts of it split while I was assembling it. Didn't have this issue with the first two. I contacted the seller and they sent replacements (and more!) The very next day without any fuss or hassle at all! I'll definitely be buying my bee supplies from these guys exclusively from now on! Edit on 4-17-22: ok.... after buying more from a different company, all I'm gonna say is that I wish I had just gone ahead and paid the extra bit of money and got the hives from these guys.

This is my second full hive from BeeCastle. Beautiful craftsmanship and the bees love it. wintered here in CT beautifully. Can't wait to get my second hive up and running with a new pack of bees soon.

Very nice bee hives for the hobbyist or novice beekeeper. Have had 2 of these hives for two years, and 7 for one year. Also bought six more hives of the 10-frame version of this same brand/hive for spring splits and caught swarms. The kit comes with just about everything you need for starting a hive. Comes with two (2) deep/brood boxes and one (1) medium honey super. Includes 16 brood frames (8 for each brood box) and 8 honey super frames. Bottom board is reversible (summer/winter) and has entrance reducer and mouse guard. Also has inner top cover and galvanized metal outer/top cover. Comes completely unassembled, but super easy to build for almost anyone. Just need to be able to drive Phillips screws and tap in some small nails with a hammer. Brood and super boxes have pre-drilled holes for screws and fit together very snugly. All wood that is exterior facing has been wax dipped. Frames are not wax dipped. Frame foundations are somewhat pre-waxed but recommend additional waxing. (Google or search YouTube) Recommend wood glue for frame joints and even drilling some narrow screws for more robust frame support. (can pick up extra #6 screws about 1-1/4 inch at your local hardware store. Pre-drilling those holes helps prevent splitting the frames. This helps a lot once you have frames with a lot of propolis and they're tightly stuck together and must use the leverage of your hive tool to remove frames. This helps from having the top bar of frames being pulled apart over time.

Would buy again, easy assembly, pre-drilled holes was great, didn’t use wood glue as directed (for frames). Looking forward for my bees to enjoy their castle!! Very fast shipping

I received this shipment about 2 day's early. The packaging was well done and contents organized making examination simple and assembly quick. Of course I added glue to every joint which was not really necessary. The wax buildup in the dovetails made it hard to join the pieces but I used my heat gun for just a few seconds and they slid together in an almost prefect corner. I did end up splitting one piece at the top edge as I put in the screw. I avoided that on all the others by hand tightening the screw for the final few turns. I did notice a few nails that were bent but there were extra so no problem. Love the quality and look of these hives. I would advise anyone to purchase these products. Top quality and they look fantastic.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY BUT I HAVE YET TO TRY A CEDAR WOOD PRODUCT OVER THE SOFTER PINE WOOD..

Handsome piece, well made of sturdy materials, came waxed and was easy to assemble. Was missing a piece but the warehouse is shipping me out a replacement so no worries there.
