So, there are people writing reviews both good and bad. Some of the bad reviews try to convince you they are very technically savvy, so it must be the fault of the device. We bought our current home just shy of 5 years ago and I started installing these shortly after. Since then we have installed 16 switches, both toggle and dimmers. I'm that time we have had no service failures. Occasionally when the WiFi or power gets interrupted the switches don't reconnect, but if you reset the breaker for that switch for 20 seconds it will rejoin its friends in the working world. Our shed is completely wireless, the outside mood lights, motion detectors etc. Our porch light comes on at sunset and turns itself off 20 minutes before sunrise. I have lights turn on before my wife gets ready for work so she can see on the stairs so she won't get hurt. Our daughters room lights up 5 minutes before her alarm is scheduled to go off to help her wake up more naturally. When my wife isn't answering her phone because it's on silent but I don't know what she wants from the grocery store, I can look to see which lights are on and I can flash them so she knows I'm trying to get ahold of her. When we travel, I can remotely stimulate our typical nights. With Alexa, we have commands like "watch television" which turns off all the downstairs lights and turns on a accent light in the living room. You can say Merry Christmas to Alexa and it turns on the outlets that we use for the tree and garland. The best part? My wife leaves lights on in the basement 40x's per day and I don't have to walk down there to turn them off. At night I tell Alexa "turn off everything" and all lights in the group "everything" turn off. I don't have to roam the house, I just wait 3 seconds for the confirmation that it is done for me. These second generation switches are super easy to connect to the network compared to the first gen. The first gen wasn't bad, but the process could be complicated by the device (phone etc) that you were using to connect with because of "intelligent" WiFi handling. These new 2nd gen skip all of that, saving a couple minutes and loads of frustration. We love them and talk about how much we appreciate them on a weekly basis, and have for the nearly 5 years. I have flood lights on the front and back of my house that were once tied to an old dimmer switch that resided in my attic. It was a pain to have to go up every year during daylight savings to change it. I had a kitchen remodel in 2021. I had asked one of the guys to put the lights on a switch in the kitchen. I guess I didn't communicate it well enough cause he just took lights off dimmer and put them on a switch in the attic. 4 years later, I FINALLY decided to go up myself and move lights from attic switch to a hall switch that controlled lights in garage and over garage door. That wire came to the attic, but was for a three way switch that was buried in wall. I could get to it, but I'd have to splice to it. That was gonna be my "plan b". After frustration cleared, I wondered if there was a switch that could be controlled by an app. After searching on Amazon, I found this Lutton app controlled switch. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for and hoping it would be. It is PERFECT. It has 5 wires so you can wire it for a single pole switch (Black goes to power "Line", Red goes to lights "Load", White "Neutral ", Green "Ground") and there's also a Yellow wire that is taped that is only used for a three way switch application. Once hooked up, you get a green flashing light which lets you know it's connected and working. Download Lutton app and the setup is easy. It took me 4 years to finally get this project done. I always say, there's a time and place for everything. Just wish I had known about this Lutton app controlled switch sooner!! Thank you Lutron!!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

Easy to install. These switches are much deeper than a regular switch, so you have to be quite careful about ensuring you have room to install into the outlet box; and be extra careful when tucking all the wires back into the box. Connecting it to the app was much easier than i expected it would be, and then connecting with Google Home was flawless. I really like the scheduling feature built into the app, it made setting up timers very simple. The switch does seem to stick out the front of the faceplate more than a regular decora switch does, but its not a big deal and not noticeable. See the photo and notice how the leviton switch on the left sticks out more. I like that the switch turns on instantly when clicked, and there is no delay like I've experienced with some other smart switches.

I have 9 of these switches (Generation 1), that have worked flawlessly for 2 years on Apple's HomeKit. The Gen 2 switch I purchased has constant "No Response" status on Apple HomeKit (more than 50% of the time). I have deleted the device, reconfigured and re-powered multiple times with no improvement. Looks like the firmware needs updating. Reminds me of the older Gen 1 firmware issues when this product originally came out. Hope Leviton takes the necessary steps. It is a good product, but cannot invest $60 a pop for 50% functionality. Would not recommend until updated firmware comes out. ** Update Sept 6/21 (Changing to 4 stars) - Leviton has been very helpful trouble shooting this issue. I now have the GEN #2 unit functioning properly. Updating the firmware to 1.0.29 was key point. Also missing a selection on one of my wireless WiFI SSIDs to enable "enhanced MultiCast". Gen 2 seems to use a slightly different technology. Great support from Leviton Tech support! Will be purchasing more units.

Just had a few of the WiFi switches and dimmers installed in my house, they are great. the My Leviton App is very easy to use and I love that I can make changes from my computer! Now my lights work for our family's schedule, one less thing to think about! I like how I can now program my outside lights to come on at sunset and off at sunrise. A huge bonus that they work with my Google Home, I only have a 'goodnight' activity set up but it is so handy. Definitely worth the price, I used so "off brand" units in the past and they just broke or didn't dim well after a few months.
