The Vansky Motion Activated Bed Light is an amazing product that offers the perfect solution for safe nighttime navigation. Ordered 3 units on 3 different occasions. Happy enough with the first unit to order a two more for guest bedrooms. First unit ordered works great and continues to do so 2+ years out. Either the 2nd or 3rd unit (ordered around the same time) failed after a few months of infrequent use. Swapping around parts allowed me to ID the faulty part which was the motion detector. Contacted Vanskytek support and explained the issue. Though it was probably out of the official warranty period they responded quickly and shipped me out a new unit right away at no charge. Less than a week passed between my original email to them and receipt of the replacement unit. The replacement unit works great and is actually a better model. Don't know if all models now shipping will match my upgraded unit or if this is just a better version that might sell for more: new unit has different plug sizes on the motion detector so that you couldn't accidentally plug the power into the socket for the lights and vice versa. It also has a dimmer knob so that the brightness level of the LEDs can be reduced. On the original unit the lights are quite bright.. in a pitch black bedroom after your eyes have adjusted to the darkness during sleep. These are inexpensive and do the job quite well. Especially if you have pets who like to hang around your bedside at night and get stepped on once in awhile when you get up in the dark. Also nice to avoid tripping on things or bumping into things at night even if you don't have pets. Highly recommended product and outstanding support. Would buy again!

I was going to apply this under my bed, but realized that the motion detector won't activate all the times I'd want it to, so I ended up putting in my closet. Works great, easy to install. The plug is a usb adapter that you put in the wall socket and then the usb cord from the motion detector goes in that to get power. The motion detector also has a slot for the strip of lights. The motion detector has a pretty good field of view, I'd guess 160-170 degrees. I have it placed slightly above my floor near the entrance to the room. It's low enough it won't turn on when I toss and turn in bed, but will if I walk in the room or get out of the bed. I'd say it's 6ft away from me and activates regularly. You definitely want to do some test runs with the light. Put everything where you think you'll want it, then turn off the lights (it won't turn on if light is shining on the sensor which is great), and move around like you normally do to see if it activates when you want it to. You also probably don't want the direct light shining, it's very bright, so put it under something or behind something to get more of a 'glow'. It comes with the usb power adapter, the usb cord, sensor and light strip, a 3M 2 sided sticky circle to put the sensor on your wall/vertical surface, and then 2 little plastic things with sticky tape to hold the cords. One holds the usb cord off the ground and the other has two prongs so it can hold the extra strip power-cord while it's wound up. The light strip has sticky tape on it already, the backing (non-sticky covering) always gives me trouble, and then it comes with some additional 2 sided sticky strip, I'd assume if you want to place the light strip in a different spot at a later time. If I remember, I'll try to edit this later with some pictures. I like the product, and although it's a bit more than I'd like to pay, I'm happy with it and would recommend.

My wife wanted a light to come on when she goes to the bathroom at night and when she gets dressed for work in the morning while I'm still sleeping. This works perfectly. It was easy to stick to the bottom of the metal bed frame and the sensor is at the head of the bed on her side. It was only long enough for one side but puts out enough light for her to see to the closet on her side of the room plus the bathroom on the other side. At the same time it does not wake me up. You can set how long it takes for the light to turn back off. I set it to the max of six minutes. I wouldn't call it a warm white but it's fine.

Update: Vanskytek sent me a replacement light (without me requesting it) and it works great! It was easy to install, brightness is adjustable and the motion sensor works great. I wanted a light for when I wake up in the middle of the night. This is motion sensitive and lights when I get out of bed or walk into the room at night. I am happy with the product and the excellent customer service from Vanskytek. Thank you so much! This worked great two times then stopped working completely. It won't light up at all. I've tried unplugging it and re-plugging everything back in and still no light. I've moved it around and nothing changes. I didn't install it right away and I'm way past the return window. Make sure you test this as soon as you receive it to verify yours works properly.

On our last cruise, we loved the subtle motion-sensing lights that came on when we got out of bed in the middle of the night. We thought these Vansky lights would behave the same. Ah, no. When finally installed we discovered that the lights had a dim view of their proper functionality. After about 1.5 seconds of motion, they come on and stay on for N seconds (based on the setting), and then turn off--even if there continues to be motion in view. Once motion is detected again, it takes about 1.5 seconds to come on. This flashing makes them far from satisfactory. I contacted the manufacturer and they (eventually) replied but kept asking for more and more information including a video of the behavior. And then they ghosted me. My initial review as as follows: First, they're ugly. The cords and light strips are all white so they are far more obtrusive than we would have liked. Next, the instructions are beyond sad. What they don't tell you is that you need to place the motion sensor WELL under your bed or, in our case, under a nearby dresser. If you don't the sensor sees you turn in bed, so the lights come on come on--over, and over, and over again. Once that problem was solved, they worked, but they are bright white and there is no option to dim them (a little light goes a long way in total darkness). They're bright enough that the neighbors think we're signaling to passing ships. There is some mysterious orange tape included, but we're not sure what that's for. I finally discovered that this orange tape (which should be installed BEFORE the lights are installed) can dim the lights and change it to a softer glow. Again, no mention of this in the pseudo-English instructions.

I bought a pair of these to put on both sides of a queen-sized bed. It was near perfect. The light is a harsh white. However, I followed the advice of someone else who posted a review on this and I used an orange chalk ink wet wipe marker to color over the individual LEDs. Chalk Ink Wet Wipe Marker, 6 mm, Candy Corn Orange This resulted in a nice warm glow that my wife and I are quite pleased with. Some other things I bought to go with this was some velcro and some nylon self-adhesive twist locks uxcell Nylon Self-Adhesive Twist Locks Wire Holder 25 Pcs Off White . I attached the velcro on the back of the led strip and the sensor so that it would be easy to remove them if I wanted to, and I added some additional twist locks to the underside of the bed to hold the wires in place since the single twist lock that came with the unit was not sufficient to keep the wires out of the way of my cats who will tug at anything hanging down off of the bottom of the bed. I'm so pleased with this, I'm probably going to buy another one or two to place elsewhere in my home. EDIT: Fast forward a couple of months and one of the two units I bought is malfunctioning. Only just few of the beginning segments of the strip are lighting up. If I wiggle the strip at the point where the it stops lighting up then it will sometimes light up to another point further down in the strip. It appears there's a short in it. The annoying thing about all of this is that the strip is affixed to the bottom of the bed where it has been since I received it from Amazon, so it hasn't seen much handling. If it works, it's great. But this has caused me to question its durability.

I love these lights. Easy easy easy to install and use. My husband gets up earlier than I do, so he can get ready without flipping on the big lights. Also I liked being able to get up during the night without worrying that I was waking my early rising, hard working husband. Very bright for clear view. I liked them under the bed because the light shined on the floor and not in my eyes. I tried them under a dresser across the room and they were too bright as they shined in my eyes. I will need to buy them again soon, as the robot vacuum liked them too and snatched off a piece when I wasnt looking. Next time I will be sure to hang them out of the reach of the roomba. I will buy again. When I first received them I was sure if they were working properly. I contacted the manufacturers through the contact info in the packaging. They were helpful!!! Turns out not only to they come on when they detect movement. They also have a light sensor, so if the room is already light they will not come on and waste electricity. It worked perfectly.
