The velcro strap she was able to muscle off at times. I noticed the bag would deflate (under pressure perhaps from her attempts of removal) and the less air in it the easier it was for her to get off via paws or by walking along the wall with one side of it rubbing the wall. When on it did its job in preventing my lab from chewing on her self and she seemed much more happy with it over a giant cone. The material is indeed chew proof and strong. After about 5 days of owning it however she got it off again and we cant find it. We suspect she buried it or resold it on a secret dog web site because we have looked everywhere and can not locate it. So my suggestion would be something better then a velcro strap and maybe adding a tracking device so it can be found when removed by said innocent looking yellow lab. I dont mean to beat the product up though. Im sure for most smaller dogs this will work great the way it is. But if you have a large strong dog and they want it off, I'm pretty sure they will get it off. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ACL surgery savior *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on June 29, 2016* First, my wily, 65-lb pit mix wouldn't wear an E-collar without running and jumping to remove it, which is exactly what he is NOT supposed to do after knee surgery.I tried wrapping his incision, but that only worked partially. The incision runs up his thigh to about groin height. That means the wrap would slip down his leg, exposing the top inch and a half of his wound. His sensitive skin could not tolerate any adhesive from tapes or self-adhering wraps. Unless it was directly stuck to his skin, any wrap would slip down. That meant the upper part of the incision was licked at and gnawed.Finally I tried this product (which I call the donut). So far, after a full day of work, I came home to an undisturbed surgical wound!As for my dog's size, leg length, etc., he's a regular dog without stubby nor lanky legs, nor a hot dog bod. The donut kept him from reaching the stifle. He can still reach the lower part of his leg, but I am able to wrap that part with gauze to protect it. He did try to lick his special private place, but couldn't reach, so it seems that it would work for sterilization surgery.Wile E Coyote was not able to remove the donut on his own.Sizing was as expected. I got the large for his 17.5" neck. Large is for necks up to 18".The strap is the only issue, but easily remedied. The Velcro does not run the entire length of the strap, which is POOR design. Therefore, only a small portion of the strap was Velcro attached, which I could see being a problem. I merely folded up slack in the middle and stitched it so that the entire Velcro portion of the strap is attached to the entire Velcro strip on the donut. Problem solved, but is the reason for only 4 stars.The outer canvas covering is pretty strong and protects the inner air tube well.The loops to secure the collar are large enough to accommodate quick release buckles. Since they are sewn directly to the canvas covering instead of Velcroed, this was important.I will give some advice on getting your dog to wear it. I left it completely deflated on him for the morning of the 1st day so that he could get used to it. I then inflated it about half way so as to allow him to again get used to it. By the evening, it was completely inflated and not an issue at all for him! I also told him it was a new special bandana and told him how pretty he was in it, so that may have helped.Overall, I would recommend this product. I just hope it lasts until he's completely healed. Just keep in mind that it won't keep your dog from getting at his lower legs, but it WILL keep him from getting at his stifle. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Almost great *by G***I on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on February 20, 2017* This product does work, but only on the front legs. If you're battling an ugly flea/mite/mange problem, your dog will almost certainly be able to reach his/her back legs even though not the front. It's still a deterrent to reaching any of their own legs but when there's a will, there's a way and your dog will nip at the tips of their rear legs. Because of this I recommend going bigger than you might anticipate and synching it down (it does a good job of staying on with a collar, so the bigger you can manage to synch it down the more effective it is).The only other con is it does slowly lose air, like any inflatable product with a cheap plug.
