This does exactly what it’s supposed to do and works well as part of the Ring Alarm system, but I personally preferred the look and shape of the first-generation sensor. Detection has been reliable, battery life has been decent, and setup through the app is quick and painless as you’d expect with Ring products. Overall, it’s a solid motion detector and does the job without fuss. I just slightly preferred the older aesthetic, but once it’s up on the wall you forget about that pretty quickly.
