What does that mean, 'Very Japanese'? Well if your a giajin like me, you are used to a certain texture to your foods. Companies design foods with more crunch and snap for the Western palate. Japanese foods tend towards softer, pillow-y textures. Especially their sweets. This candy bar does just that. It has a very nice deep and dark chocolate flavor burst up front. The inside has a 'rice crispy' texture. Note rice crispy, not rice crispy treat with the marshmallow fluff. There is the initial tooth and crunch of a dry rice crispy, but then the bite dissolves rapidly, melting in your mouth. It'd be nice if there were a little caramel in there to keep the chew going for another nom or two, but hey, this fellow isn't designed for me. I recommend it due to the flavor, which is very nice and unique chocolate, and the novel experience.

These remind me of the "Volt" candy bars we had while in Japan. There are delicious!! Highly recommend.

These are Japanese candy bars that have a funny name, and taste delicious. The interior is a cocoa crunchy cookie that is dark and rich similar to an Oreo minus the frosting. The texture is very fine and it’s got a delicate crunchiness of the cookie that you only get with high quality ingredients. It’s rich but not too sweet. You will not find a better tasting cookie/candy hybrid. Too bad they have to travel so far, but they arrived very quickly with Amazon (2 days) in perfect condition. Definitely give these a try, you will order them again and again.

Very good, I tried one out of a surprise box, and was pleasantly surprised, it’s the texture of a hard chocolate with white chocolate cookie or a digestive biscuit wrapped with a thin layer of chocolate, very good consistent everyone

Ever been to Japan? If you haven't Black Thunders are a must try. They are perfection. They're not too sweet or too bitter and the biscuit is great. When I miss Japanese sweets Black Thunders are at the top of the list so its convenient that I can get them without jumping through hoops.

These little nuggets are like stealing the fudge layer out of an ice cream cake! I don't even mind the price because of how good they are!
