It did assist in drilling holes for dowels, but there are a few things to note. 1) the alignment was slightly out on mine as the self centering was off center. This can easily be adjusted yourself. 2) it comes without any drill bits 3) there are no depth stops or drill collars, so you'll need to purchases those separately, and lastly the alignment marks are very feint and obscured by the tool when it's closed, so either scratch or paint marks on the sides of the tool. After all that, you could just as easily get drill bits and collars and do the job yourself! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Solid piece of kit *by K***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 February 2022* I usedthe jig to dowel timber edge to edge. I found that despite lining up on the marks I made across the timbers that the holes in the subsequent board were all1.5mm adrift. Fortunately I had cut the timbers long so was not an issue as all the dowels lined up.
