Review: Looks good but magnets are far to weak - As a user of weller products for year all I can say is I’m disappointed with this one. The base is so smooth and the magnets so weak that one little nudge and everything slides all over like a hockey puck on an ice rink . The bendy arm are near impossible to bend in to the shape / angle you want and as soon as you let go they just about spring back to where they started . Even if you can get your work clipped in a position you like the arms are under so much tension it either bends the work or the magnet lifts . I tried using just 2 arms which although the clips and arms are easier to set your work up 2 magnets won’t hold anything . If you touch it with your finger tip the magnets just come off . Thanks!** A: I didn’t ever know about any magnets, so I just took a close look at mine, and didn’t see any, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any. Not sure why you would want magnets, your wire, and whatever else you’re soldering the wire to, is meant to be held by the 2 alligator clips. **Q: How much weight will it hold? I'm thinking of small branches and flowers.** A: I don’t have the 4 clip magnetic holder, I have the little one called the magnifier helping hands. That 4 clip magnetic one does look pretty cool though. I would only use it for holding, wires, or electrical terminals, that I pre-tinned, then solder those pieces together, while one hand is holding my soldering iron, and the other is holding a roll of solder. According to your question, I’m not sure what your thinking, this thing isn’t that big. Those 4 arms would probably hold a branch that was only 1/4” thick, not very long, and not very heavy. Maybe each clip would hold 1 single long stemmed rose, without collapsing for sure, but these things really aren’t that big for tree branches.
