Drop one end of the string with nut through a small opening at the top of the barrel. Roll or tilt barrelwhile fishing the nut through the opening where you want the fitting. Then secure the end of the string with your foot. Pull the other end of string and thread the fitting ocer the other end of the string. Pull string tight and let the fitting slid to the hole. Slip your finger on the hole and into center of fitting and pull it into the hole. Thread nut through outside piece of fitting. Put your finher through both pieces of fitting.pull inside piece snug against barrel while screwing outside piece snug. Make sure the rubber gasket is on the inside of the bsrrel. Its also a good idea to make sure your fitting fits well in the hole you drill from the outside before you try to do this from the inside. **Q: Is it safe for vegetable garden since it is not lead-safe compliant?** A: No, they're not.
