I have open candle holders and deeper, more enclosed candle holders. The open ones burn these little tea lights faster than the ones that protect the candle from a stronger airflow. So, they burn between 6 and 8 hours. I love them! **Q: Is there any plastic smell or melting of the plastic cup when burning these candles?** A: No smell, no dark smoke, and no melting plastic with these plastic clear-cup tea light candles. In fact the whole reason we switched to these instead of the tin-cups is because when the tin-cup ones burn out they make a strong odor, whereas these particular clear-cups there is no odor while burning but especially because there's no "burning stink" when they burn out.
