I have an old monitor sitting around and need an extra screen for work to look at outlook and excel. This saves me to buy a new monitor and also give the old monitor a second life.

This works fine as a dumb connector, but if you add a second monitor to a MacBook Air with M1 or M2 chip only one of them will work. You need additional software, such as DisplayLink, to add the second monitor. Some docks support DisplayLink but this being a very simple device does not.

This VGA adapter is the only one I've found that works well with my Mac Mini and my NEC monitor. I use it to add a second display to my Mac Mini. It generates a sharp, clear display. However these adapters only seem to work for about a year before I have to replace them. After about a year I start seeing distortions and flickering in the screen image. The problem is solved with a new adapter, and I just installed my third one. However the adapter is so inexpensive that I don't mind this too much.

I’ve been able to recommend this to others. So much more value than the $50 cord they tried to sell me in the stores. Works well. Great size for a mobile office. Compatible with a MacBook and Dell monitor. Easy to use: plug and go!!!

I tried to connect my old Sony monitor to my smart phone but it did not work. However Chrome book work well with this adapter.

One irritating thing about the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro 13" is that they don't have any display outputs. I always need an adapter if I need to do a presentation over a projector or monitor. And sadly, Apple charges a high price for that little adaptor. This inexpensive alternative comes in handy because it is inexpensive and is also very reliable. I have an M1 MacBook Pro 13" and I tested this with an EPSON projector, an HP display, and a Dell monitor, and they all work fine with resolutions up to 1080p which is pretty amazing. Super happy with this purchase. If there is one drawback for this adaptor, is that the plastic casing for the VGA port is not done perfectly well and I could see very little plastic peeling off from there.

The adaptor is a good one. I am using it from months and caused no issues yet. I recommend the product.

Trabaja bastante bien para conectar mi viejo monitor Acer. Una vez establecí la configuración de las pantallas adecuada funcionó a la perfección. De dos cables VGA que tengo, solo uno me dio señal. Ya tenia un monitor conectado en mi puerto HDMI por lo que este me permitió conectar un segundo monitor en el puerto USB C. Hay que revisar que el equipo soporte dos pantallas extendidas.
