Usborne First Encyclopedia of History

This is a great resource if you want to have a gentle approach towards history for young children. The information is presented in simple language and the illustrations really helps to understand the era and the facts provided! It is not a lot of information though, so may not be as helpful for older children. But it’s perfect for my 7 year old to understand the concept of history and how things were in the past. So for primary children, and early secondary, I highly recommend this book!

There was not as many pages as expected and more detailed would have been better. For example they could have put far more about Kings and Queens. My 5 year old nephew wanted more detail as he kept asking loads of questions.

I have bought the books for my grandson who has a thirst for knowledge,he loves them so much,I had a quick look and could have sat and carried on reading them myself,they're really knowledgeable

My grandson aged 6 loves this book, continually picking it up and reading pieces from it
