I tried it on a VERY smooth 100% cotton tea towel and got a faint line (pushing VERY) gently. Do not know if it will wash out or not. It would be good for marking a cutting line, marker or pain, of stitching. On a thicker fabric...I tried a wash cloth, it was a no go. The fabric was to poofy and the paper just tore.
